Skirmish mode broken, cannot play selected god, wrong team size

Issue:

Cannot play the god I select in skirmish mode and the number of players is not correct.
I have tried the following:

  • Disabling all the mods, and rebooting the game.
  • Deleting AoMR folder in C:\User\Games.
  • Verifying files on Steam.

Upon further investigation, I have deduced that the issue does not lie in the local files, but with the online profile.
The same thing happened on a new PC with fresh installation, the only common thing is my online profile Steam/Xbox.
Please double check that on your server.

I have this issue intermittently, some times skirmish works ok, other times it doesn’t….

But to exacerbate the issue, my game has now begun to ruin my work around to 1v1 AI by setting up a 1v1 online game… because all my eco tech and age 1 tech is auto unlocked…

Making Thor in particular broken since my berserk have all the god tech at armoury unlocked at game start

I am also having this issue. I notice this was flagged in October, is there a fix?

Unfortunately it happens every once in a while and they still haven’t fixed it.
There is a workaround though:

  1. Disable Steam Cloud for AoM Retold.
  2. Delete your user folder in C:\Users\youraccount\Games\Age of Mythology Retold\long numbers
  3. Start the game, and then you can try and enable Steam Cloud but it’s not mandatory.
