Small changes in food related to units

Also the number of arrows an archer can carry won’t be unlimited, it has to cost wood everytime it shoot an arrow

For an year, he can carry unlimited arrows of supply. It won’t be a matter.

This is a nice idea, but yes even incomplete. I was expecting a slight change from our game. It completely eradicated villager concept.

you could make your own game. theres swgb which runs off same engine as AOC I believe. or if that hurdle is too high you can try making a mod and make your own adjustment you see fit

Ooh! Not to be mean but I prefer AOC in original shape.

How it will be if we remove villager war and towers wont attack villagers.

No offence mate, but every suggestion you make forces me to think HARD about how they can be applied positively to the game.

Amount of positives uncovered:

None, nada, zilch, zero.

What exactly will removing Villagers’ ability to attack each other solve? It arguably makes walling enemy resources and other laming strats much easier because you can only push enemy Villagers away with your starting scout. Now I’m likely in the minority when I say that I like laming and am an advocate for more forms of Dark Age disruption, but why get rid of the ability for Villagers to fight the one thing they can actually fight with hand-to-hand combat?

Stop laming with villagers too, we can make no entry zones for laming.

Army don’t eat that much more than villagers. And military units do cost more food anyway. Villagers are 50 food. Scouts are 80 food. Militia are 60 food 20 gold. It’s fine and realistic the way it is.

All of you who think unit eat food are wrong. Each player have 200 pop supply, that is what they eat regardless of relatability, otherwise you can’t explain why some units don’t cost food at all

what about halbs and skirms only 35 and 25 food respectively, In real life if a peasant eats a plate full of meal, it gives only half a plate for halbs and skirms this goes no way in accordance to IRL.

Could you explain me more clearly, does the pop and food have a connection to do? People can eat depending on 200 pop or 300 pop etc.,

I thought these days military or navy men eat with more salary. And more Income because of the more efforts they put.

Sb in TC make new born babies. Each newborn baby eat 50 food and instantly grow up to adult worker. This should make sense🤣

200 Pop means you can feed 200 units.

Food is a kind of resources, units only use it in training.

TC is a place where people from houses send their youngsters to work houses are where people take birth. This is a relatable game we cannot keep pushing our gut to be judgmental at all.

So, we need to give 'em food to get trained instead of spawning they are already ready for training. In 1000 years we need not inquire their living needs which does not relate to this game instead we need to only tackle their training needs. So a basic struggle to life is lacking in this game.

yes, because it’s a game, not a realistic simulation. if you want a game that’s closer to a realistic simulation have a look at stronghold or farthest frontier or banished or against the storm. These kind of suggestions have no place in aoe2 as they would rip out established gameplay and replace it with something completely alien

Why is simulation closer to life than the de original graphics?

I don’t understand your question.
A simulation’s purpose is to be close to the thing it’s simulating
A game’s purpose is fun/challenge etc
