Something is going on on SteamDB?

Guys please. Open your own topic. Everytime i see new posts here i open with hopes to see news from steamDB but it’s only your discussion. You can have your discussion, but please not in this topic.

Well, if something comes out, we’ll let you know, but if they don’t announce anything today or tomorrow, come back in a month…

Yes, please stop going offtopic and discussing civs on every topic.

Anyway, steamdb changes again, next tuesday or the other one we could have the patch.

Practically every time I read you I end up out of place, I wonder what I’m seeing, I have to reread the title of the post where I had entered and sometimes you have written up to 4 or 5 posts in a row instead of all in one (I am just as disorganized…) .

I don’t want to discourage you in any way, keep giving your opinions, but for the love of all gods, create a different topic instead of posting where it doesn’t belong.

Reading the forum distracts me, but most casual people who come in to read a topic expect to read about the specific topic.

In this case, when the desired update appears and what is happening in steamDB.

Not for learning history or new civs ideas. And if you don’t have an organized forum, people get discouraged and stop coming.

I seriously doubt they will release an update on a Friday.

Yes, just answer those 3 comments anyway, the thing is that there is nothing new so no one can comment on anything…

Are there any hints (for DLC or other new content) inside the files there?

The only possible hints were on PUP, the only files that we had acces, with the REV flags of Poland and Danish kingdoms.

We don’t have acces to those files of Steamdb, we just can see the changelog.

Surprise! The “New DLC” is the full game XD (I hope it’s not the only thing being worked on).

With the long-awaited update that was said to be delayed due to an issue with Valve, we now have a good idea as to why that issue existed as they have created a free to play trial mode for Steam.

The mystery entry added in June is now revealed as the DB entry for the Full Game unlock on Steam, the other 10 mystery entries that were added in May were last updated on June 8th. https://steamdb.info/app/2477660/history/

For those hungry for DLC, unfortunately this patch had no On the Horizon, no Hero Cosmetic Volume 2 reveal, and no answer to the Polish and Denmark revolution mystery that showed up in the PUP, only more questions. I found some breadcrumbs that remain after searching for Danish and Polish in some of the files. Both appear to have been worked on as revolutions, the Danes would have a Royal Grenadier unit that has Promotions and possibly an Espingol artillery unit, while the Poles have a Scytheman, a Polish Lancer, and a Grand Hetman.

If you want to see the Polish Lancer model you can ship the Dutch’s unique Church card and send in the Red Lancers, or you can use the French to revolt to Revolutionary France and ship the Napoleonic Era to transform your Native Scouts to the new Eclaireur; both units are skin variants of the base Polish Lancer. Interestingly, the Polish Lancer rider’s animation file was updated between the PUP and release so that the French variant is the “none” option while the default version requires an “Unavailable” tech, presumably a placeholder for a Polish revolution that is still in development as that’s the first time I’ve seen them do that.

<component>ModelComp
  <logic type="Tech">
    <none>
       <assetreference type="GrannyModel">
	   <file>units\revolution\polish_lancer\polish_lancer_rider</file>
	   <materialvariant index="1"/>
	</assetreference>
	</none>
	<unavailable>
	  <assetreference type="GrannyModel">
	    <file>units\revolution\polish_lancer\polish_lancer_rider</file>
	  </assetreference>
	</unavailable>
</component>

I’m all for a Polish revolution.
But the Danish revolution is again very…dumb. Danes were never conquered so they did not revolt.

The only way to justify it is “some land that belonged to Sweden/HRE revolted to join Denmark” like:

Still an odd one though.

BTW is it possible to track when those entries were added?

Why revolutions though?

This has to be one of the worst things to ever add…Both of them were popularly requested as standalone full civs for a long time and adding them as “revolutions” feels bizzare.

Still hoping the devs would at least explain this decision, impossible to see anything valuable coming out of it.

I wonder if they’ll test these as revolutions for the time being before transforming them into full civilizations as their concepts are more fully developed.
