Sometimes the map RNG is extremely imbalanced, FRUSTRATING

Just a played a game with this map where I was blue:

Stuff my opponent had that I didn’t:

  • Back hunt;
  • Gold right next to his 2nd closest TC;
  • 10 caribous on his 2nd closest TC (mine had 7);
  • His forward TC had 2 back gold mines (mine had 1);
  • 2 relics closer to his base (relics on my side of the map were really far).

It is really frustrating playing a game where you start with this much disadvantage simply by map RNG. I really hope devs do something to at least mitigate the issue of maps being this unfair. I know it is better now than it was in EE, but we need further improvements.

The maps are sometimes unfair, yes, but you were wrong.

This is not true.
This is an asymmetric map.

He has closer resources, and it’s easier for you to defend. You could have played boom and that’s it.
What’s really unfair is that my opponent had to build walls and I didn’t.

Although again, I have less access to resources than he does.

It is not assymmetric. It is a map where my opponent have access to more resources closer to his TCs than I do. That game in particular me and my opponent were playing defensive gods in a boomy game and I autolost the moment I tried to secure my second gold mine whereas I couldn’t punish his 2nd gold mine because it was under TC protection.

Not only that but I had almost no access to “safe” hunting since I had no back hunting and less hunting on my 2nd TC than and my opponent did. I quickly got out of hunting food and had to transition quicker to farms which put me in another big disadvantage as well.

What is the point of being able to wall easier my 2nd TC if there is no resource in it to protect? lol

The map you provided as example is not the exact same situation as tthe one I pointed in OP. Different apples.

It is an imbalanced map, like sometimes the RNG give us, it is as simple as that.

What is that red line supposed to represent? It’s clearly not the midpoint of the map between the two players…

There are two TCs on the map, one near the main, one right in the middle between the players, and one far away in the corner.

So when he talks about the “back mine”, it’s not true. All the gold here is in the middle of the map. No one has back mines because the middle TCs are shared. The map is not mirrored.

Not standard maps but when I was playing with friends on Nomad, I found that some settlements are closer to hunt and some settlements are far away from all the food resources.

Do no know if it is intended or not.

Another example of imbalanced map on same Tundra:

  • Red have back hunt and behind 2nd back TC, blue doesn’t;
  • Red has access to a gold mine really close to 2nd back TC and easy to wall, blue doesnt;
  • Red had 1 relic spawned closer to his base, blue didn’t had any relic spawned close to him.

Can someone point to me a single map advantage blue got? I can’t see any. Map balance needs to be better and I hope devs listen to this feedback. This is just an example out of many I got here.
