I was able to fix this by installing MS DirectX drivers… I’m not sure if it will let me post a URL, but here’s where I downloaded it from: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 .
You’re not supposed to need to do this on Windows 10… and this install doesn’t mention Windows 10 (just 8) - so if this is your parents computer - please check with them before you blow up their computer! Good luck!
