Comment :
[The 2HS are directly available in Castle Age, the only nerf are -1P armor and -5HP, compared to their current stats in the imperial age.
They have +1 melee armor and move as fast as a Huskarl, making them a very offensive infantry unit, their zone damage (a little lower than with Slavs technology) helps them to fight all units in close combat and their range of 0.1 means they can perform well against buildings and have a better path against units.
But Champions are very vulnerable to archers (They can no longer be chased by archers btw)
The Militia line cost -5 gold (+5 food after gambeson), advances from 0.9 to 0.94 and has +1P armor in Imperial Age to tank archers for longer but loses -3 attack in return (+3 more bonus damage done to Eagles and buildings). They have less attack than before but attack 5% faster. The aim is to make them more resistant to archers, and more cost-efficient in terms of gold. 3 Man-ar-arms cost 45 gold = 1 Archer cost 45 gold]
