Splitting up the Subcontinent into a 3-4 civs is acceptable

Agreed, but we already have Imperial Age in Age II and Industrial and Revolutionary Ages are part of Age III (I think).

Nubians and Edo/Benin. The rest should go to Age I, they don’t belong in Age II as most ceased to exist by the beginning of the Feudal Age.

true, but imperial age exists in both aoe2 and aoe3. fortress age and castle age are also basically the same

Good idea. Have you thought of what UU those civs will have? The wonders will be easy to find since the Malays have a ton of still standing or ruined buildings of worship.

Is the 15th century Feudal?

The reason why Imperial Age exists in both games is because Age III is a direct sequel of Age II. Duh! Age II ended on Imperial Age, therefore Age III began from it.

it’s the final age in AoE III though. it starts in exploration age:

  • Commerce Age
  • Fortress Age
  • Industrial Age

Middle Ages started in 900 AD. They ended in 1500s.I didn’t look at it the way you did. Swahili for example started their existence in 6th Century CE. Read the definition section here: Swahili people - Wikipedia

Adal Sultanate probably won’t win any favors as it existed for only 150 years. The rest (if looking from the way how you putted), I need to retract my comments and add Ifat Sultanate as a form of gratitute: Sultanate of Ifat - Wikipedia

How odd. I played one scenario of a campaign in Age III and uninstalled it realizing that Age III lacked challenge. I finished the scenario in 5-10 minutes.

It was an “amazing videogame” until LotW were introduced. Ugh!

how can an addition of new civs/campaigns make the game worse.you can just play without those

The rest what? (20 characters)

They didn’t knew that somebody like us will whine about having more civs. Keep in mind that this game started where best of the best were allowed. To be clear, the first game (Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings) had 13 civs all of which were well known and respected throughout the world: Britons, Byzantines, Celts, Chinese, Franks, Goths, Japanese, Mongols, Persians, Saracens, Teutons, Turks and Vikings. The Conquerors expansion added Huns, Incas, Mayans (without a campaign?), Koreans and Spanish. After it, instead of doing Mayan campaign and/or adding campaigns for the Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Persians and Turks, the devs decided to added The Forgotten Empires in which they introduced less known civs such as Cumans and Bulgarians, didn’t add campaigns for Slavs (buth the civ exists) and screwed up Dracula campaign (Dracula was Romanian!) And after it everything went into a complete fiasco with inroduction of lesser known civs of Berbers, Burma, Ethiopia, India, Malay, Mali, Khmer, Portugal and Vietnam. While India, Khmer and Vietnam are fine, the rest baffles me a bit. Why including Mali and Ethiopia but not including Edo/Benin?! That civ is better known then Mali and Ethiopia!

So, that’s my history lesson, sorry for the rant, but some stuff are unforgivable. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Are you trolling? Or you are American so you don’t know what Malay is?

For now, yes. But what if another “Full Game” will be introduced and Sicily will be in the West while the rest will be in Europe. This will be a mess. Sicily is in S. Europe and here the devs are being “geographically ignorant”.

Malay is a modern day Indonesia, a campaign which could have been skipped and not be missed much in comparison to Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Persians and Turks which had their civs introduced in the very first installment of Age II and were ignored repeatedly.

No, I am not an American and I am not uneducated. I’m Russian who impatiently awaits the fix to Dracula campaign (of him being a Romanian), as well as introduction of a “real Forgotten campaigns” of the Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Persians, Turks as well as Slavs, Vikings and Mayans which the devs spit upon while trying to keep us entertained with less known civs ever since Age II DE.

Don’t get me wrong, I do like Age II DE a lot, it’s just that I really want those campaigns to be added ASAP. I bet that you would like to play Chinese, Japanese or Korean yourself. I also await for Edo/Benin to be included, at least it’s stated in my encyclopedia that the kingdom existed from 1450-1750 AD.

No, I am not trolling, just a guy who has love/hate relationship with this game, which I bet you do too.

Agreed. Graphically and gameplay wise Age IV is supperior but it lacks the viriety of civs and campaigns which Age II has.

Sorry, I thought you would understand that I am agreeing with you (except for the Swahili). That’s why I said that I won’t mind Ifat Sultanate to be added, a civ that you missed.

yeah but is it though?
