Springalds need to gain bonus damage against elephants
Since springalds were reworked to be more like aoe2 scorpions and are anti infantry instead of anti siege now they also need to do some damage to elephants like in aoe2
It would fix the issue of tower elephnats literally having no counter in late game with their 1000 hp even mass mangonels dont do damage to them
Delhi death ball literally has no counters in late game and their only counter aka spearmen is not really that good since most of them just die to range attacks before they can get on them and even then their damage is funny cuz elephants got 1000 hp
Either Springalds or mangonels or both should be also anti elephant to give some options to fight mass elephants in late game those 0 damage shoots from mangonels it looks ridicolous and stupid are those mangonel stones are actually paper or what ? literally bouncing off those elephants
Also springals should lose like 2 damage out of 10 bonus against infantry cuz theyre just too op against infantry now and that springald meta on closed map is kinda cringe they are just too good against infantry now this matchup feels like x2 worse than mangonels vs range and infantry already has tons of counters compared to other unit types
In aoe2 literally both scorpions and mangonels do well against elephants in aoe4 here is no counter to them and thats a problem

Ye that would also fix the problem with kt. They have no real counter to elephants.
You know what’s funny? I’ve been suggesting the same thing for months for the scorpion’s AoE IV counterpart, the springald.
But they applied it first to AoE 2, and in fact, they also gave the scorpion bonuses against melee infantry, just like AoE IV.
Maybe the interconnectedness theory between games by FE is true.
They probably want to try this Bonus of Scorpion/Springald in AoE 2 first, and if it works there, apply it latter to AoE4.
Well makes sense scorpions in aoe2 do well against pretty much everything except for siege even killing cav which should be the counter super quickly in mass and they wanted to fix it nerfing base damage and giving it some small anti infantry niche
I just hope reduce the bonus against infantry in aoe4 too while at it
in aoe2 the bonus is pretty low which is good scorpions and springalds already counter infantry hard just by the fact that infantry are slow moving melee units +10 in aoe4 is crazy they shut down any infantry play and are spammed since that projectile range increase buff
They gotta trade some bonus damage against infantry to damage against elephants and maybe give some damage against ships too that would make sense
Mangonels could also gain some small damage bonus against buildings and other siege like in aoe2
mangos isn aoe4 dont seem as problematic as springalds are in aoe4 now as they need setup to shoot move slower and their shoots can be dodged more easily
