Hello,
Why after all this years when you have the game on microsoft store :
- Fewer players see game that you host
- Longer time to join game
- No loading correctly game in lobby browser (on my steam account I always see many game but not my microsoft store account…)
Crossplay is enabled by default, so it shouldn’t be that different, there’s a small subset of players that have gone out of their way to disable crossplay on the settings, but I suspect that’s a vast minority

it will probably neve rhappen my friend. reasons:
business monopoly is a thing and money drives them to separate the platform, microsoft also wants to control the gaming market so they’d want to take cut away from steam, just how it is
not saying MS and steam couldn’t work together on this and make it happen, but its more natural for them to split platform like this
a few have it disabled, since they dont want to match against console players.
Since both is in the same setting, there is nothing you can do
Have the game on microsoft store doesn’t mean you are on xbox. I am on pc and buy the game on microsoft store.
It should be hide how the player buy the game to avoid descrimination.
