Steam and Windows Store Versions out of Sync (AOE2)

Game Version:

  • Build 101.101.32708
  • Platform Microsoft Store

Issue: Cross play does not work. It looks like the Microsoft store version is behind the steam version. My friends on Steam have version 101.101.32875

Cannot join eachothers games as a result “Unknown Error”. Shouldn’t the updates be in sync? Checked windows store and the game reports itself as up to date.

EDIT: steam version updated again… windows version still behind

Same problem here. I have the new 101.101.32911.0.4395365 (Steam) and my wife has still 101.101.32708.0.0 (MS Store) …

Same issue. Can’t play with friends on the one night we have together because of miss-matching versions

They called it out in the update post, that they are aware of the version desync and until they sync back up cross play is disabled.

Really too bad, first friday after release :frowning:
