Stutters/Lags in Multiplayer since last update

In multiplayer only, the game is slow and then accelerate to catch up time. See video attached. It happens only since the last update. Everything was OK ever since. In Solo games, it is smooth as usual.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Launch a multiplayer game

No stuttering/lag

I’ve looked the savegame with CaptureAge and everything is smooth. No pb here.

No advice but just to say i have the same issue and have just made the same post. Mine occurs in multiplayer as well but only seems to occur when I have a unit selected (lol so most of the time). is yours the same? if you press F11 again you can see the FPS under the game time. when i select a unit it drops to 15-20FPS. if i deselect the unit (even while it’s still moving) it shoots back up to 90 FPS for me.

Thanks Bodger. It happens exactly like you said. It’s the selection of a unit that creates this lag.

Steam required an up date on 3/13/24 and every since the AOE II DE Multiplayer has lagged something terrible. Always re-connects and catches up but cant react fast enough in the game that way. Click and command a unit and they react 3-4 seconds later. Last night was the worst. Each command was delayed by 1-3 minutes and while I could command and click it just stacked them on top of each other and took 10 minutes to react to all, even after I stopped giving commands. Finally just gave up on it.
Just back out that update and put it back the way it was., Updates should always be tested before rolling out.
Please put it back the way it was!!!

Do you have this issue with mods disabled?

Yes absolutely. It indeed happened with my moids enabled so I disabled them and the problem is the same.

Any update on that ? It kind of prevent me from playing it… :slight_smile: Don’t hesitate to contact me to test some things if you need to !

I don’t have an update yet, but I informed the team about it, I hope we can fix the issue soon.

Actually, I’ve tried to uninstall/reinstall the whole game and it has made the bug disappear…

I am still having the original issue as the OP but uninstalling and reinstalling the game did not help me at all. The issue still persists and leaves multiplayer unplayable

Any external application that might be interfering with the performance of the game?
