Having the same issue. There are dozens of reports of this on the steam discussion forums but I guess they don’t read those.

aoe4 runs on relic’s notoriously outdated essence engine, which has a memory leak that will never be fixed.

so you have to either restart after every couple games or feed the game with tons of ram to avoid crashing.
