Suggested new shortcut: key to delete only villagers

Hi everyone!

I'd like to suggest a simple improvement that could prevent many errors during quick matches.

Currently, the delete command removes any selected unit or building. However, in micro-intense situations—for example, when you have a villager selected and need to quickly delete a wall—if the click fails and the wall isn't selected correctly, you might accidentally delete the villager itself.

My suggestion is to add a specific hotkey to delete only villagers, and keep the current one to delete any other type of unit or building. This would prevent accidental losses and make control more precise, especially in quick or high-pressure games.

Please consider this idea. I think it would be a very useful quality-of-life improvement for all players.

That’s very situational for a shortcut, while you can already select villagers only : zoom in to only cover the area you want then double click on one. Or maybe from your selection only keep villagers (then delete them) with Ctrl and/or Shift, not sure of the combination.

Why did you make your post as a code block?

That makes it a lot harder to read because now I have to scroll left and right.

You can already only select villagers so this feature wouldn’t really offer any advantage.

Unrelated but double clicking fishing ships should only select idle fishing ships (if enabled in the settings), I have made many mis-clicks in Black Forest XD

haha I honestly don’t know why it showed up as a code block
but I think you guys misunderstood I don’t want to delete the villager, that’s exactly the problem!

imagine this situation: I have a villager selected, and I quickly try to click on a wall to delete it. if the click misses and the wall isn’t actually selected, the villager stays selected and gets deleted by mistake.
this happens really fast during intense micro moments.

that’s why I suggested having a separate hotkey just for deleting villagers, to avoid these accidental deletions and make control more precise.
