l saw the game in question Daut vs Villese. Cumans did not steam roll the Lithuanians. I don’t know how much the 2nd TC helped in victory.
At least till the castle drop in Daut’s base it was close. Match was just one mangonel shot away from a swing in other direction. Also, the diff in vills was not much till the castle drop.
It’s not my homework by rhe way it’s yours. You made the argument. Its your job to support and defend it. All the current information says cumans are far from overpowered. Winrates, Pickrates, tournament use and winrates all clearly say cumans arent overpowered and their bonus doesnt need to be nerfed. You are the one contesting all that information, it is up to you to show us that the information is wrong.
So its not even close to “my homework”.
Then why are you making threads complaining about high level balance ? Why not just let high level players decide themselves if it’s OP or not ? Despite what you think, NO, generally you can’t comprehend how something works if you are not able to do it yourself.
You were complaining about some dude douching as Goths and now you’re speaking about Incas???
That’s what I thought: they can camp on a hill all they want they will never be cost efficient against skirms (and thus “not op against their counter”)
So even if the Berber player is dumb enough to let the Tatar player use his bonuses he still wins. And you feel Tatar CAs are OP?
I don’t stop them, this strat isn’t just good for them.
Imagine all the people studying anything and you are here with:
No YoU CaN’t cOmprEhEnD HoW sOmEThiNg WoRKs If YoU aRe NoT aBLe To Do IT YoURself.
Lmao
It was to notice that Inca vill are better than your average vill with loom despite it needing feudal age.
There doesn’t exist just 1 counter to a unit.
He wins depending on how many are fighting how many. The more cav archers (same number camel archer = cav archer) more they survive. My number was relatively low.
I don’t get how this thread turned into 110 posts, but whatever.
Play the Cumans a bit before you make the absolute statement that they are OP. The Feudal TC gives it’s maximum benefit in a situation where you don’t need to make military to defend. On closed maps, like Arena, that’s significant. On open maps, like Arabia, it’s easy to find yourself unable to utilize your second TC constantly while making military, thus short-handing the bonus.
Not to mention, a nearly 300 wood investment in Feudal where you would normally drop military buildings makes providing anything to deal with pressure besides Spearmen very expensive.
Lastly, against any sort of tower pressure, dropping an early TC can leave you extremely vulnerable, as you’ll need to mine stone to drop your first tower. Not having the resources upfront means an opponent can likely guarantee denial of resources, be it a gold, a woodline, some farms and the berries, or even the TC spot resources you claimed with the feudal TC, since towers outrange TC’s.
This is an all-or-nothing eco focus strategy and you don’t see it constantly at the high level because it’s very risky when addressed properly.
I can say based on what I have heard among various voices in the AoE Forums that Cumans are “too stronk” or “too weak. Pleaz buff!”
But I can say based on my personal in-game experience, namely playing Cumans myself and seeing a good friend of mine play Cumans a lot…that Cumans are powerful but not really due to their better Feudal Age TC boom, rather they are powerful for two things: Siege Workshop and Battering Ram available in Feudal Age, and the Kipchak UU cavalry archer.
Now, the Feudal Age TC boom is unique in that it allows the Cumans to really grow in the early game and perform well in Feudal Age fights. However…if you play as Cumans and you commit to the Feudal Age boom…you risk falling behind the other enemy players in Castle Age and Imperial Age advancing. Other civs can beat Cumans quickly to Casltle Age for instance and start pumping out Knights, Mangonels, Crossbowman and other powerful units that can overwhelm a Cuman-Feudal Age army.
As for the Kipchak, they are the true power of the Cumans: they are cheaper than regular Cavalry Archers in gold, cheaper overall than the Mongol UU Mangudai, and they fire MORE arrows! On top of that…the Elite upgrade cost for Elite Kipchak costs NO GOLD. It is as of now the only UU Elite upgrade to not cost gold. Of course, in this recent November Anniversary patch, the Kipchaks have been slightly nerfed in having their firing rate slowed to the same rate as Mangudai, but the fact that they fire multiple arrows still makes them the king in the cavalry archer tier list.
My good friend who plays Cumans literally 99% of the time says that the Feudal Age TC Cuman boom is situational…basically you have to hope that your opponent(s) are not fast Castling.
No…the true power of the Cumans lies in their unique unit.
