Auto-scouting is a feature which makes new/returning players have a frustrating experience when playing the first mission of Montezuma. The Conquerors campaigns were made when auto-scouting wasn’t a thing of course, so that was not taken into account in the campaign design.
See for example this lady try out the Montezuma campaign, despite that she read the hints thoroughly the mission is quite rough for her because the auto-scout claims the monasteries. She reads the hints again (which say nothing about the mechanics of claiming gaia structures or the inevitable consequences of using auto-scout in this mission) and repeats the same mistake anyway due to it (very understandably) being confusing. (What does the game mean by “claim”? It seems the enemy goes and destroys them anyway!)
I think this warrants an additional hint or rewriting of the hints in Montezuma 1 to take into the account of the existence of the auto-scouting feature.
