i think at it might be wrong is in a general sense playing on strenghts on the like cav military and monk(a)S
Again, same argument. Bow saw is a bit better as you wont always be able to afford it but most of the time you will and by the time you reach castle age your economy is still generic and not good enough for elephants
Just looked at their Tech Tree again, they have good options and should keep their identity of lacking good Archers. Maybe a creative eco bonus could help them. What about:
-
No Hand Cart
-
Blacksmith Upgrades increase the carrying capacity by 1 and the villager speed by 1%
Burmese have 13 Blacksmith Techs, Hand Cart is researched rather lately and in Late game this would be better than the +7 carrying capacity and +10% speed of Hand Cart.
does the research of wheelbarrow wouldt change it atleast a bit?
Thatâs too harsh of a change especially for Burmese even if you make up for it with the blacksmith upgrades.
actually nobody tryd that approach yet and its still handcart and no wheelbarrow( or in whatever order it is)
Abother possibility is making their wood bonus usable outside arambai.
In theory, they could use it for a siege monk push, but thats all. Maybe they should receive a siege civ bonus (to fight against archer civs), or an archer bonus to compensate for the lack of armor like i spitballed before (i.e: archer units affected by barrack techs or cav archer affected by manipur cavalry).
I also like the idea of training elephants faster, as we discussed in the âvietnamese buff threadâ.
First Wheelbarrow then Hand Cart.
so maybe a buff to elefant and a mangonel buff?
This wpuld be bad for their elephants.
And if by the end your idea made them gather foos as fast as with handcart, then it would be a pseudo viking bonus
The +1Pa will earn them sometime and resources to fight back xbows/archercivs with Eskirms early castle until they have a good chance to flood their knights/elephants. What do you think about giving their elephants 10% or 15% resistance to coversion?
i mean its a lackluster when it comes to Ressources outside of wood if wheelbarrow is avaible but not hand cart
Itâs not too much. stop being scared of large numbers. Having all the monastery techs wont win you the game. Itâs balanced and burmese need a buff rather than a nerf.
not my intention dabbled with the idea but i see the obvious problematic
What about farming? Hand cart has a huge impact on farming, in fact that is the single biggest reason to pick it up.
yea thats true and i mean it wouldt make sense to change a bonus to a fitting one for farms since insert generic civ got it allready
At release their elephants were designed as ram substitites (manipur cavalry and howdah) but then they nerfed howdah because they soaked too much arrows. So their elephants are not as attractive as arrow sponges as before
Besides, tanky elephants is not wnough against most archer civs. One monk is enough to nullify them. Their elephants will need more than one buff against archers if we follow this route.
The mangonel buff is vother possibility and wpuld combo with their monks. But i dont know what to do⊠More pierce armor? Extra projectiles?
My aim was to find something that would benefit their infantry. There are currecntly only 4 civs with FU Champs and Halbs and an additional bonus that benefit those 2 units, and Burmese are ont of those 4.
What do you think about giving their elephants 10% or 15% resistance to coversion? Of course with +1Pa for their ranges.
10% or 15% isnât a lot just so you know.
