Since they are called “Home Cities,” it would be ideal to treat all civilizations equally. The Home Cities for the Haudenosaunee and Lakota feel overly simplistic—appearing as little more than small encampments centered around a few figures (with the Warchief later hidden). Why couldn’t they be rendered from a wide-angle city perspective, similar to the Aztecs and Incas?

Although we all recognize that both the Haudenosaunee and Lakota existed as tribal confederations and never developed traditional cities in the conventional sense, using panoramic vistas—like those seen in the campaigns—would have been a fantastic alternative.

That’s because they aren’t supposed to be home cities. They have tribal councils instead of home cities.

That’s why I believe everyone should be treated equally. Since they are all Native American civilizations, their Home City system should share the same core structure rather than demoting them to a Tribal Council.
The Lakota are nomadic so they do not have cities at all and the biggest Iroquois settlements were just fortified towns. There’s actually quite a lot of difference between those north of Mesoamerica and those south of it. If anything their mechanics/theming should be more distinct not less.

Yes, but that’s how it is… if they had had great cities like Tenochtitlan or Cuzco, they would have had Home Cities like any other civilization, but the cities they had weren’t very different from how they appear in the game…

The Haudenosaunee one could look similar to this:
The Caughnawaga Indian Village Site covers an area of 135 acres (about 55 hectares), which feels roughly equivalent to the total area of 77 standard soccer pitches. To be frank, it is by no means small and is far larger than a simple five-person encampment. My point is that presenting it through panoramic vistas, as done in the campaigns, would work just as well.
A presentation like this would also be viable.
