For some reason I cant hear the taunts in AOE2. Typing 11 for instance you should hear that evil laughter but it doesnt happen, I have checked all the settings and theres nothing wrong there I think. Do they only work in multiplayer?
I think there is a bug too.

No, I bet you have checked the “/Taunt” in game Settings, where you need to type “/11” instead of “11”.
Just uncheck that, confirm, and it should work.
