TC…wings (IDK what they’re called lol) clip over stone walls that are placed along it’s front edges. The images I provided are from the scenario editor but I was able to replicate in deathmatch (I tried that specifically as it was an “actual” game but I’d have plenty of resources to mess around if that proved to be necessary. I don’t think it’s anything specific with deathmatch). I was also able to replicate with fortified walls. IDK if other walls/buildings placed in front of the TC will produce the same result, and IDK if other buildings beside the TC would reproduce this clipping. Also not sure if it’s the stone wall itself, or if it’s the tile and the stone wall is just the right height to show this clipping.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Build a TC
  2. Build a stone wall along the front edges

TC should be entirely behind wall.

:point_down: ALWAYS attach a PICTURE (.jpg, .png, .gif) or VIDEO (.mp4, YouTube link) that highlights the problem.
So this first image just shows every architecture set / age combination of TC behind a stone wall
I think feudal and castle age Western and Central European TCs are particularly good examples.

This image shows that even on subtler examples, African Imperial TC, that clipping is always in the same place. Specifically three specific tiles around the TC seem to be on a lower layer than the TC, two on left and one on the right.

I’ll be honest, I don’t see how this would ever cause an actual problem in a real game. Even the “obvious” examples are relatively subtle, and 99.9% of the time building anything that isn’t a farm right next to your TC is about the dumbest thing you could do. Maybe it’s a last ditch effort on regicide. IDK.

ok. I’ll try again. I’ll also have some duplicate links with spaces in between. IDK if it’s some regex match finding the links and censoring them. maybe that’d throw it off the proverbial trail.

I have a 4k screen so the screenshots are pretty large. You should be able to zoom pretty far into the conclusion.jpg.

And Actually now that I look at conclusion.jpg again I see I goofed slightly. the “overlapping tiles” are relative to the end of the walls, but in the test I had them extend to the corners (5 long) but in the mockup I only have them four long.

I’ll send over a corrected checkerboard momentarily.

One other thing I just remembered, I also didn’t look into how elevation effected any of this.

So I was just randomly watching a SOTL video, when I noticed that the TC clipping also applies (at least in the patch of the game from 2 years ago) to another town center.

Link should work to send you to correct moment in vid, but if not go to 7:12.

The middle town center’s left wing clips over the town center next to it.
