Technologies with modified costs don't refund resources on cancellation

:arrow_forward: ISSUE EXPERIENCED

 DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD.

Technologies who got their costs modified via the “Change Technology Cost” effect fail to see their resources cost refunded if you cancel the technology’s research process, resulting in pure loss of the new cost minus the original value (I believe).

  • Less than 25% of the time / matches I play (RARELY)

:arrow_forward: REPRODUCTION STEPS

 List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptive!

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Play any scenario featuring technologies with modified costs.
  2. Launch the said technology.
  3. Cancel the technology research: observe that the resources involved are again substracted from the bank and not refunded as they should be.

 What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?

Resources should be simply refunded.

Here’s the thing with the Supplies technology with modified cost from the V&V Ragnar’s Saga scenario:

Ok, I figured it out. You have to rewrite base values (-1) to 0 ONLY for resources involved in the original technology’s cost. This used to be not the case, but doing so makes it work.

Did they fix the change gold cost? I remember it didn’t work for technologies at least.

Apparently everything works fine, for gold as well, so long as you rewrite the default -1 field to 0 for ALL of the original technology’s cost resources types. So If you want a to modify the cost of a technology that needs say, food and wook, to only cost gold, then set 0 to food and 0 to wood, set the gold cost to the desired value, and leave the stone (unused) field on -1.

Note: these observations are only for Technolgies cost effect, not other objects.
