Can have nearly 90 pop, archer ball huge line of knights if done proper by 9 min, without really even needing leave base, it is a stronger rus - in a way, in that you forego the pro scouting for pilgrims and hardly need to consider any sort of base design (like rus does). You just make the buildings, plop em whererever, put vils on wood and thats about it. Pilgrims get the gold and you need only win the fight.
Build palisades around sacreds, kill pilgrims. Keep in mind the pilgrim researches cost 300 and 450 resources respectively. They won’t use villagers to age up, but they will not train 5 villagers getting to feudal and getting 2 pilgrim techs. If no pilgrim reaches a sacred site then they are behind by a lot.
Im not suggesting its unstoppable only that its the strongest that has ever existed as its the easiest to execute without really knowing much except how to make the buildings and micromanaging units
I disagree completely. It is not the strongest by a long shot, and it is extremely easy to counter. If KT loses map control they have no mechanic to generate gold aside from pilgrim loans, relics, and an optional imperial age up.
Their 2tc timing is superb, being able to start construction earlier than any other civ, but that’s balanced by the 3 vil deficit they have with their age up mechanic.
KT is kind of mid in terms of OPness. Most of the things I’ve seen people struggling with against them is not understanding why/how you can counter them.
Again, you just have to kill the pilgrims. They need to do a lot to protect them, so the idea that there is no micro because you don’t control them directly ignores how much KT players need to focus their attention on the pilgrims. Until KT gets their keeps up they are by far the easiest civ to harrass.
Im talking specifically about the one base all in. 2 pilgrims, 90 pop army by 9 mins and dont even need to care much about food or base design at all. Ive seen people do it without even finishing the sheep they found lol
I don’t really understand how any civ can reach 90 military population by 9 minutes. This sounds made up as it’s not mathematically possible.
Do you have any matches on aoe4world that show this happening?
the secret sauce is the tp
For future reference: an all-in strategy is when a player puts all of their resources into a single overwhelming attack.
What you’re describing is a player investing 750 resources into an eco boom and using the extra resources to build a larger army mid-way into the game.
Hope this helps!
i meannnn saying a 9 min push in which theres litterally no infastructure (no farms, no mills on deer, no eco upgrades) is NOT an all in is a bit uhhh, edgy imo
It’s the same amount of resources spent on eco as a 2tc build… 9 minutes for an all in isn’t soon enough to counter most defensive builds (FC done in 7 minutesor less, 2 TC active by 6:30 = needs early aggression @ 6 minutes)
Here, take a timing attack build from valdemar for chinese (1tc)
Even at 11 minutes you have 40 something military units.
I would love to see some gameplay examples if you have them, but as it is I don’t think what you’re describing is possible.
Well the ONLY thing that comes close to it is the sushi double shotgun bow rush, which isnt even close to as strong as the KT “mid game play (as you call it)” that can happen at 9 mins with a full archer ball taking up 3 tiles and something like 10 “budget knights” to cover them.
Which again, requires almost no game knowledge outside of the build order. The last few people i saw do this build had built several buildings next to tc and spaced so inneficiantly that if they did want to make farms, they would begin making them outside the range of the tc lol. But they would usually still have sheep so… (this is like high diamond players btw)
