Just a thought regarding the eternal debate about splitting the Germans. I’ve imagined a very simple change that simply involves slightly modifying the Age 4 politicians.
They essentially do the same thing as before, with just a reskin of their portrait and flags, plus the unlocking of some units (most of which are already available from the Home City, so the change is very minor). And of course, everyone would have access to the German Confederation revolution in Age IV.
There are a few flags you might find inaccurate, particularly those of Saxony and Bavaria. I wanted to maintain consistency and clarity in the game by clearly indicating that German civilization remains largely the same, while keeping the eagle on all the flags.
…
Well, this idea I’d had for a long time — and which others had also imagined in other topics of this forum — hasn’t aged well.
Indeed, the developers preferred to envision Prussia as a revolution. And, even though it feels strange to me to think of it as an industrial age revolution, I’ll be satisfied with it. I just wanted to share my initial idea before it was forgotten.
I even think that with the developers’ new design, which involves revolutions, we could increase the number of German revolutions by adding Austria and Bavaria (and making the German Confederation available to everyone). But that requires more work, especially creating and balancing new revolution decks. Perhaps Gran Colombia or Argentina could be taken away from Germans, leaving only European revolutions.
