But in maps where resources are very spread out, or in long matches where nearby resources start to run out… this problem described below will appear.
→ PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The AI ends up with a large number of idle villagers… as wood resources run out or become too far away.
Is it possible to make the AI delete its excess and completely idle villagers?
Or better yet, could the AI use these idle villagers to build large numbers of farms and use trade to sell food and thus earn gold?
Honestly, I would like to see the AI manage to survive and better manage these idle villagers… make them create many farms, sell the excess food, and perhaps even delete some of the excess villagers.
This is a very old AI bug , i’m talking about the Villagers idle bug. Now it’s partially fixed 50/50, but it’s still happening, but I recommend you write directly to support. They will definitely respond, whereas on the forum, these bugs are reviewed with a delay. Here is the link: https://support.ageofempires.com/hc/en-us/requests/new .
Unfortunately, the developers fixed very few AI bugs from those I reported earlier, but there might be some hidden fixes that weren’t described in the changelog.
AI Update
AI player will now train units from Imperial Age Landmarks when playing as the Golden Horde.
Golden Horde AI will use Stone Armies to produce more than just Kharash.
AI player will now train units from Imperial Landmarks for Macedonian civilization.
As I noticed, the higher the difficulty, the less chance the AI has of building walls. The AI mainly starts building walls if it is subjected to constant raids on its base and successfully repels them.
New Patch 15.3.8338 has been released. Unfortunately, there are minimal improvements and changes in AI behavior. I hope there are some hidden improvements that were not included in the list of changes.
AI Updates
AI player will no longer issue conflicting commands to naval units, which results in the unit getting stuck in a command loop.
AI needs to STOP building so many military boats on water that has no enemies.
Even tiny ponds. This is evident in random maps as well as other maps. I would rather they don’t even build a dock than have all their pop slot filled with boats that they can’t do anything with and a tiny land army that I easily decimate.
AI needs to be able to BUILD on STEALTH FORESTS. Some random maps with are mostly stealth forests…so if playing NOMAD the AI can’t even build a proper base. This has such bad affect especially on cigs including Ayyubids and abbasid where they build their LANDMARKS on the other side of the map away from their main TC.
Random Maps seem to not be so random anymore. I don’t know about anyone else? I only get stealth forest maps, a couple of rivers maps, islands?!? It used to be a lot more random and mixed up.
I also do miss the turtle random maps where there would be big mountains dividing up a lot of the map so you could find a secret spot to start your base.
Hi everyone
Patch 16.1.9737 is coming soon ahead of the release of the Yue Fei’s Legacy DLC, and it includes a bunch of cool improvements and fixes to the AI, as well as bug fixes that I and many other players have reported.
AI Update
AI players will now employ more efficient tactics to pursue win conditions.
AI players will now scout more efficiently.
When playing in a team, AI players will now coordinate in defending their controlled Sacred Sites.
Fixed an issue where AI villagers would travel great distances to gather from shoreline fish when playing on river maps.
AI players will now avoid building naval military when it isn’t necessary to do so.
Fixed an issue that caused the AI to produce more Springalds vs armies of siege units rather than armies of melee infantry.
AI religious units are now taking less dangerous paths towards relics.
Macedonian AI players’ Varangian units will now use their unique abilities.
The AI player will now build and use the Koka Township landmark when playing as the Sengoku civilization.
Tughlaq Dynasty AI players will now purchase Springald and Cannon Emplacement upgrades for the Tughlaqabad Forts.
Tughlaq Dynasty AI players can now have war elephants trample their enemies.
Tughlaq Dynasty AI players will now utilize their Bhakkar and Jalor governor bonuses more effectively.
Golden Horde AI players will now take less time to age up.
Golden Horde AI Players will now train Bombards.
Golden Horde AI Players will now purchase upgrades for their ovoo gather rates.
That’s great, and it should improve the AI quite a bit. I hope there are still some changes that aren’t listed in the patch notes. We’re looking forward to the DLC and this patch-have a great day, everyone
The new patch and DLC are finally out, and I want to congratulate everyone on that!
I’ve only played for a short time - just 10 hours - but I’ve already noticed clear improvements in the AI behavior and fixes for many of the AI bugs that I and many other players had reported to the developers.
At the same time, it wasn’t without some downsides, even if they’re not very significant. For example, I found some new AI bugs related to the new civilization. Also, a few old bugs remain. Although there are very few of them now, they still affect the overall AI behavior.
Jin Dynasty AI:
The Jin Dynasty AI builds the Pagoda Forest but doesn’t use the ability to capture enemy units and bring them under its control. It also doesn’t garrison its Monks inside the Pagoda Forest to increase its efficiency.
All AI:
Moreover, the AI of all civilizations doesn’t know how to react to the Pagoda Forest’s capture aura, which causes them to lose a huge number of units when the player uses the capture ability. This is a very strong exploit, as the player can easily take the AI’s entire army with just one click of the ability.
I’ve played only a little so far, but the Jin Dynasty AI really impressed me. It uses about 95% of the mechanics, units, and buildings - and that’s definitely awesome.
I’ll continue testing further. If you find any new bugs, please be sure to report them to support, as the developers rarely read messages on the forum. Here’s the direct link: https://support.ageofempires.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
