Berserks don’t defeat them…go in and test them out in the editor, both 1v1 and equal resources. The only infantry they lose to (non-hero/non-counter) are fanatic and samurai. They beat all they others.
Fanatic and Samurai have bonus damage vs. Infantry so that’s fair.
How can you even think of writing something like that?!

They barely managed to win when the berserkers had no god bonus at all.

Bit of a visceral reaction there bud, it’s not like I said something taboo….
I run my tests based on absolute raw stats - so no upgrades, no techs, no nothing. And in every test I did it was either an equal trade or a slight win for the Ocelotl against those standard frontline infantry. And at the end of the day, that’s what the Ocelotl is meant to be - the front line. So if it’s trading roughly equally with other frontline unit then it’s doing its job.
Having a charge attack and the ability to stealth also cuts him some slack imo. You have more control on what to target with it, so even if it isnt the best one in an A move dynamic i think its fine beacause you can choose what to engage.
Eagle warrior being very good means the damage doesnt have to be all in the frontline, he just has to survive while the backline takes care of things.
But he doesn’t survive. He’s a infantry who takes bonus damage from archers, eats up 3 population, and costs is insane. As I said, he’s only good for raiding vills. Coyote better choice for anything else
Interesting, so far from my experience they seem they outclass the ther aztec infantry in terms of value given. Could def be wrong since its quite early, but from other games i see, including todays mini tourney they seem to be doing well. Eagle warrior also been doing some good work.
Im sure as with all civs that are released some things are gonna underperform and others overperfom, its good they are patching things promptly and being willing to adress issues that show up.
Aztecs to me worry me more in the Ranged MU department, watching several Pos games, unless you have the god power that gives speed its quite hard to deal with centaur. Its the classic norse OG hersir issue but with way more MUs in Retold.
The Dancing God has a skill that increases the speed of all human units by 10%. Priests can catch up with centaurs or prevent them from firing at all. If things get really bad, you can activate the warrior priest buff.
Ocelots aren’t economically viable. They take up a lot of pop and serve an unclear function. Shorn/Smashers/Coyotes/Spearmen are more profitable, depending on the situation. And in the Mythic Age, you’ll only be building girl-riders.
Its not close to being enough. Its the same dynamic forsetti hersir have. It ofc depends on how the oponent plays, centaur are quite frail if people forget about them.
Which just has them retreat a couple seconds while the duration goes away
