The Aztecs are weak

At the moment, the new Aztec pantheon is the weakest in the game. You can tell me all you want about mechanics and lack of experience, but the facts are that the Aztecs lack economy in the early stages, their troops are weak compared to others, their priests are weak, and their divine abilities cost an inordinate amount of money. For example, Tlaloc’s ability as a stone idol cannot cost 300 blessings, as it only destroys 1-2 buildings and does not have any other beneficial effects. Other abilities also cost more than those of other pantheons, but their effectiveness is low(except for the volcano) . The Aztec troops have good stats, but they almost always lose in reality. The mythical units are also weak. Level 2 units: the rabbits don’t have much effect, and the stone idols that shoot rays are completely useless. Level 3 units: only the butterfly is useful, and the other options are weak. Level 4 units: the owl is useless and has no useful abilities.

Some of their units like Eagle Warriors are really good but you need to survive long enough to be able to train them.

I feel like the developers overestimated he value of stealth and the effectiveness of traps.

The Aztec Villagers are as bad as Egyptian ones but their Calpulli addons don’t fully compensate for that. The Egyptians don’t just get the Pharaoh they also get most buildings for free. Maybe they should be more like Norse villagers who are just 5% worse then Greek ones since their bonuses seem to be similarly good. Norse got Dwarves, Ox Carts and don’t need to waste villager time to build buildings, which are also cheaper. So Norse have similar economic bonuses compared to Aztecs I think.

I have a feeling that the developers made this Pantheon in 1-2 months, and they tried to surprise us with a lot of useless mechanics that don’t have much effect.

I don’t agree. They are well thought out and interesting.

I think they don’t want to run into the issue again of releasing OP civs so they tuned them down on purpose. Paid content being strong is pay to win, which is something they want to avoid.

Hmm è tutto discutibile. Le unità militari sono tutte ottime . Io ho criticato solo il tempo di addestramento del guerriero aquila che mi pare esagerato per un arciere un po piu forte . 20 secondi di addestramento…

L’economia è un po lenta però con 3 calpulli è come se hai 3 faraoni. È un po lenta a ingranare però poi viaggiano.

The main problem is the warehouse attachments and their cost. While all other civilizations are building a second TC, the Aztecs are spending 150x3 + 75x3 = 675 wood for something the Egyptians get for free. Moreover, you can’t build more than one of each type. This means you can’t build three warehouses between farms and get all three resources from food alone.

Otherwise, everything is fine there.

Edited: Yes, traps for 100 wood are insane. I’d use them for 20 wood, but for 100 wood, that’s too much.
The turret dude is supposed to give a 50% chance to plant a spike trap, but in practice it only has a 10% chance.

What did you do right?))) Did you win 4-6 out of 20? How’s your math? I wouldn’t be surprised if your opponent was AFK or it was their first time in PVP. Your stats don’t matter, but once you’ve played in at least a hundred battles, come back. However, there are people who have already published statistics for several hundred battles, and the Aztecs are at the bottom of the list.

That’s right. They have the weakest economy in the game. That’s the whole problem. The problem is with the additions to the warehouses and their excessive cost.

And not only with the economy. I don’t see the point in saying that they’re doing well now, because they’re losing everything, and you can only play against bots. Once they’re fixed, it might become playable, and then we can start looking at the positives. Currently, the Aztec Pantheon is unplayable.

On top of that, why does the Owl myth unit have broken wings?

They didn’t want the Aztecs to have flying units? It’s fine, but at least they could have implemented a fly-and-land mechanic for the Owl, as is the case with the Chinese Tiger, which has to land in order to attack, making it more vulnerable to enemy fire.

Luckily the Volcano GP is OP to compensate for, but that’s a sign of bad design, nevertheless.

The rabbit units should’ve been a godpower which spaws a lot of angry rabbits at once for example, would’ve been closer to the myth, as myth unit it’s just silly and unfitting.

Rabbits are a great raid unit. They’re also quite good in group fights. My only complaint is the turret guy, who costs as much as an Einherjar but is three times weaker. Also, his spike ability doesn’t work.

The Aztecs have the weakest infantry, the Ocelot Warrior loses to all the infantrymen (except Egypt) because he has a very slow attack speed. I even ran tests…

The mad jaguar is right. Ocelots are only good for raiding settlers. They’re no use in open combat. Even berserkers can defeat them. I wouldn’t be surprised if the huscarls did too LOL!
