Hi, I’m Tata (塔防), captain of AOTDE, the largest Age of Empires III clan in the Chinese community.
Recently, we have noticed an extremely blatant cheater appearing on the ranked ladder. This player uses map hacks, resource boosts, and even directly spawns units such as tucktucktuck. He has also insulted and mocked Chinese players in game. Players across the Chinese community are very angry about this behavior, but we do not have the ability to punish him ourselves. Therefore, we need support from the developers.
AOE3Explorer has already identified many suspected cheaters, which is a very good start. We believe the developers should take direct action against these accounts—either by banning them completely, or at least by preventing them from playing ranked games.
At the same time, we hope the developers can hear more voices from the Chinese community. AOE3Explorer’s detection is not 100% accurate, and there are many fair and honest players in the Chinese community who are actively fighting against cheaters. We can help review and correct the list of suspected cheaters. For example, “[A0TDE] 塔÷快看我是谁” (A"zero"OTDE;original ID: JiaHow; numeric ID: 25488532) is clearly a cheater, yet this account has not been flagged by AOE3Explorer.
Finally, we are truly sorry to see these recent cheating incidents. The cheat software was reportedly created by someone from China and is being sold for 50 USD per month. We hope the developers can work together with us to punish cheaters and help make the Age of Empires III a fairer and better place for everyone.
