I made a suggestion:
players who are afk will be given like a 5 or 10 minute temporary ban from matchmaking or something similar. Same for players who ALT F4
Also, we could implement it in a different way:
when match is found, you get a prompt saying “Accept match” with a yes / no, you are not shown the map or the players, so that you can’t just dodge a map. (if you press NO, nothing happens you go back to queue, but if you don’t press anything after 30 seconds, you get a 5minute afk punishment)
After you press Yes, you proceed to how the game normally is, the 60 second countdown, prepare/chat with team etc… and you don’t need to press anything more , you can keep the unready button, just like it is now.

Not sure about that.
Sometimes I am in the que with my friends and it takes more then 5min to find a match while I manage something else on my desk (not touching mouse and keyboard).
In that case I do not want the que to suddenly stop after some time…
But I think the game should log if a player is afk in a match. In that case all players should gain/lose less Elo points and the afk player should get a 10min ban from queing again (the time should increase if he/she is afk again). It works like this in other games too…
It would also be great if the game could log if a player really had a disconnect or just alt+F4. (And distribute Elo points differently in each case).
What do you mean? Even now the queue will always suddenly stop when a game is found, and if you are busy doing some other stuff, your game will start and u will be AFK. I think people in our community are a bit too spoiled when it comes to things like this. Can’t your friends just notify you to accept the game when it pops up, just how all the other big multiplayer games do it?

Sorry meant to comment on the original post.
Yes your idea would probably work great.
But perhaps do not give a “No” option. It is not necessary and there are always people who will just que up and press no to annoy people…

If the devs notified this as a problem then I am sure they could brainstorm a reasonable solution themselfs.
