The game doesn't open after the Winter Patch

Hello!
I updated the game to the Winter Patch, but now it is not opening. I use the play button in Steam, and it apparently tríes to load, but then it doesn’t open.
I played normally before the Winter Patch.
What can I do to play again?

When I have issues with games on Steam, I generally try the following (before reinstalling):

  1. Right-click on the game in your library.
  2. Select “Properties”.
  3. In the window that opens, select “Local Files”.
  4. Click “Verify integrity of game files…”

This will sometimes find and replace bad files without having to completely reinstall the game.

I haven’t had any issue with AoE4 via Steam so I can’t comment on this as a fix specifically for this case.
