Since the update of the 30th of april,
I have age of empire 2 DE running on my secondary screen but when I have the game running and focused my mouse can’t leave my primary screen where the is not.

  • 100% of the time (ALWAYS)

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Have at least 2 different screen
  2. Put the game on your secondary screen
  3. Enjoy your mouse locked to your primary screen when you have the focus on the game

My mouse/pointer should be on the game and not locked on my other screen

I have this exact same problem. Same enviroment, only difference is Windows 11.

I have found disabling ‘Clamp mouse to window’ option in Interface settings fix this issue however it interferes with gaming experience.

Playing the game in primary screen causes no issues.

Similar issue. I guess the full screen mode and “clamp mouse in the window” bug due to resolution misjudged issues.

Same issue. Hopefully it happens to one of the streamers so they will actually fix it.

Same issue. Started today after the latest update.

I have 3 screens and now i cant play. Only is to disable the extra screens or make the game run on primary.

What also could be of help is to post a screenshot of your System → Display settings. Make sure you cut out your personal information (especially if you login to your device with MS account).

A temporary (or definitive) solution could be changing your secondary monitor to act as the primary (main) monitor. See the link below.

When my first display with 19201080 and second at right with 25601440, I have one third of the screen that I can play. If now the second screen is at left, I have the same issue where I cannot play at all.

I don’t have the issue with the 2560*1440 is used as Main Monitor. So here is the degraded mode.

We are investigating issues with the mouse getting stuck on the main display. This is being tracked in the Known Issues & Solutions and is currently under investigation.

I have 3 monitors and put the game in monitor 2 (38402160). But the main monitor of system is monitor 1 (19201080).
In this patch, after switching to a window of other monitors and switch back to the game, I cannot move the mouse to the right part of the game.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Use a computer which has multiple monitors, 19201080 + 38402160
  2. start the game in the 3840*2160 monitor, “clamp mouse to the window” selected.
  3. switch to other window in the 1920*1080 monitor (alt + tab or other way) and switch back to the game
  4. mouse cannot move to the right part of the game.

:point_down: What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?

Mouse should move free in the game.

The team is aware of the issue, the only workarounds until is fixed are: play the game on the primary screen, disable Clamp Mouse to Window or play the game in Windowed Mode.
Sorrry for the inconveniences.

This issue also happens on my GNU/Linux two-monitor workstation. I’m used to having Nvidia/X11/Linux problems, but it’s good to know that in this case, it wasn’t my setup.

We released Hotfix 113358 earlier today. This should fix this issue with the mouse getting stuck on the main display.
