The Graphic Will be a very divisive argument for this game

I would go as far as to say that graphics in the other age of empires games offer greater visual clarity. I have an easier time discerning between models in literally every other age game that I’ve played than I do in age 4. The unit silhouettes are just too similar spearman look more like maa in age 4 than in age 2 for example and distinctions between upgraded units (eg spearmen to pikeman) have few changes masking gameplay and leading to less satisfaction from the upgrade. Game still seems good, but I would prefer a change.

“For example, we reduced the amount of detail for small items like soldiers and units and stuff like that for better readability from your camera”

I just can’t believe that argument, adding more detail and texture to units and weapons you will be able to identify them easily on the battlefield…

This is a poll in the game official forums lol… of course people will be more positive here,

I am fine with the graphics. What I don’t like is how hard it is to read unit since they are just a bunch of blue messing together on the screen. I thought visual clarity is the dev priority? I have hard time differentiate between a group of bow man and villagers, or a group of spear man and man at arm. They have a big spear sure but what I see is a blob of blue unfortunately.

Mm, that’s why we have seen so many people, ON THESE FORUMS, complaining about other things in the game…because they are sooo positive

AOE III humiliates the IV. Why didn’t they just use the same graphics engine as the III? I’d add some polishing and that’s it. This attempt at their innovation may have ruined the game. Most of the casual players I know have complained about the graphics. Also, as if the weak graphics were not enough, the optimization is horrible, with these graphics the game should go from 144 fps.

Remembering that: unrealistic graphics is different from beautiful graphics. The art of the game is good, but much more was expected.

For more hardcore players like me, it’s not that important. The gameplay of the game is extremely addictive.
