The Kronos power "deconstruction" should not be available at the start of the game

The power deconstruccion is ruining the game because it is impossible to advance to the next age. A power that makes it impossible for you to advance to the next age in order to be able to build towers or barracks to defend yourself should not be in the game or at least be available after advancing in age.

What about making it stronger per age up?
Age 1 only full deconstruct cheap building like house or drop point building (100 resource), while stronger building will unable to target or take some resource back from some hp reduce.
Age 2 could make it to military building (150-200 resource).
Age 3 is for Tower and some more expensive like temple (300 resource).
Age 4 could deconstruct fortress building and more (+300 resource up).

I say have it start on a 4 and a half minute cooldown or something. Enough so that most people have started building up something to fight back with.

All Gods/Titans including Kronos could use their starting God/Titan Power in Age I from the older AoM games as well as in AoMR so nerfing Deconstruction like suggesting in this thread ridiculous IMO.

No, because the deconstruction power is the only power that prevents the opposing player from advancing to the next age at the start of the game. It is practically impossible to defend oneself. It is not fair to the other players. It is unfair that the player who uses chronos can advance to the next age and send his mythical creatures to rush the base while the affected player cannot even build a tower or a unit to defend himself (in the case of the Nordics). That is not fair.

A quick solution would be that the power of Kronos ‘deconstruction’ cannot be used in temples.

That would stop Kronos players from being able to use the ability at all in Age I including on a Dock or a Dwarven Armory for example. The most change I would be willing to have any kind of support for is to not be able to target Temples while in Age I with Deconstruction but totally preventing it from being used in Age I is ridiculous.

Sorry, but how exactly do you think Deconstruction stops you from aging up?

Because you know that the requirement to age up is having built a temple, right…? Not currently having a temple. Your temple being deconstructed doesn’t actually stop you aging up.

I disagree, I believe deconstruction is perfectly fine, except on water maps and I primarily play egyptians who are arguably hit the hardest due to their longer build time for temples etc. It is alright for god powers to make you play differently, if you are worried about deconstruct hampering your advancement the solution is to preque age up and delay your temple, so you will age up the instant the temple finishes, not giving the Kronos player a window to deconstruct it.

That has an easy counter, just pre-queue the Age up and make sure you have the 400 food on temple finish. Chronos will not prevent you from aging up, the resources go back to you, you only need to build the temple again.

Is annoying but nothing compared to bolt killing a pharaoh or an early priest for example.

It is not easy to counter a player who plays Kronos since they usually rush after deconstructing the temple, and the Norses have no way to defend themselves since the Norse temple is the only building where they can train heroes to defend themselves in the Archaic Age. If as a Norse you face two rivals who use Kronos’ deconstruction on the Norse temples, it is practically impossible to counter it since you have no heroes to defend yourself and when the second temple is finished being built, the second rival will use the deconstruction power again and the rival will also transport Kronos’ military buildings to the rival base in less time than you expect.

It’s funny to me how when people complain about fimberiwinter that everyone is like it’s fine, but now someone is whining about deconstruct and wants it nerfed.

I think people confuse balance. There are clearly things that are over powered that needs a nerf. But the point of a strategy game is that different factions are going to have some kind of advantage. If you balance things too much there’s no strategy left because everything is perfectly equal.

There’s no need to change deconstruction.

what are you talking about? The Atlanteans are the best pantheon in the game. The Atlanteans have no disadvantages, in fact, the Atlanteans should be nerfed. And the deconstruction power is just another advantage that the Atlanteans have over the other pantheons. Isn’t it enough to transport buildings anywhere on the map? Do Atlantean players also want their rivals to be unable to defend themselves or advance to the Classic Age?

I just won against a Kronos with Seth, he used deconstruct power on my temple, but I think it’s ok if you build your temple very back in your base he will try to rush with oracles but they can be easily kill with some villagers

Again, Deconstruct does not slow down your age up. Once you have built a Temple one time, even if it is destroyed or deconstructed, you can age up any time, as long as you have the resources. No need to prequeue like @Rhacius and @FaniFM suggested. And since you get your resources back, there’s nothing stopping you building another temple soon after you clicked up.

Here’s a rec demonstrating that, if you want an example.

It’s honestly only really valuable on water where you can slow down your opponent’s navy construction.

Deconstruction power needs to be nerfed as it is a huge advantage for Atlantean players over other pantheons, especially in team games.

In all ranked team games where you have to face two Kronos players, their play is always the same:
double deconstruction of temples + rush of mythical units + teleporting military buildings to the enemy camp = victory of the Atlantean team at 6 minutes

How can a Norse player defend himself against this type of game if Norse heroes are only available in temples in the Archaic Age? Is teleporting military buildings to rush not enough? Do Atlantean players also want their rivals to be unable to defend themselves at the start of the game?

A power that favors rush at the start the game and favors the opponent not being able to defend should be nerfed or at least the power should be available in a time sufficient for the affected player to be able to defend.

I actually didnt know about this ty for the info.

@BornWinter52864 No, as far as I’m aware, deconstruction when used on a temple in age 1 does not prevent the player from aging up. You can still age up when the temple gets deconstructed.

you should just play as the Atlanteans then if you think they’re so good. Trust me, they’re not perfect. Play them and you’ll find out.

Technically the temple isn’t gone until deconstruction takes full effect, which is like 10 seconds or something.
