The Multiplayer browser is driving me nuts

I’m very close to dropping a negative review on steam, and this is coming from someone who has played the original for many many years, I’ve played this game since 2006 until ESO closed the servers and many years after on voobly and I have in my many years of playing online games not encountered a worse lobby/multiplayer browser than this. I’m legit trying for hours on end to get a game together and it’s impossible, whenever I host a game nobody joins, I can be hosting for an hour and I won’t see a single person.

I downloaded some maps from the ‘‘mod’’ section to play online, and ever since I downloaded I believe a zelda map and some mythodea maps I get a pop up whenever I go to the multiplayer section that says I can only find players that have my ‘‘data mods’’ enabled. What? I downloaded some MAPS from the mod section, I didn’t download anything that enhances or changes the values of units or changes the data, why is my lobby getting borked because I downloaded a scenario type map??

Also, both the chatting system and the ‘‘joining games’’ system are extremely delayed and slow, whenever I join a game that’s like 2/6 full it will put me in a loading loop for 2 minutes and then say that the game I’m trying to join is full… Then I refresh the page and it’s still on 2/6…? I’m writing this at 21:45 and I’ve been hosting a game from 21:00~ish and NOBODY has joined, on a fresh release, with supposedly 20000 people playing. Right, I remember the early days of ESO and my lobbies would fill in a matter of seconds with only 1200 people online. I hope we get fixes to this really soon, because I’ve just about had it with this client.

It’s being updated soon. Lot of people are having this issue. It’s frustrating atm.

It’s not only the game browser, it’s also quickplay and ranked.

It’s a shame because the game itself is solid but the infrastructure supporting it is shockingly low quality. I hope they focus on the multiplayer UI and network primarily in the next week or so. I won’t leave a negative review because I think it will get to an acceptable spot eventually but AOE3 has multiplayer browser problems as well that they never fixed so while I think it will get to a fair spot eventually I doubt it will ever be good.

You just summarize my experience right now.
OG player, ESO stability was not great but that was 20 YEARS AGO.

This kind of experience can ruin the community especially on a lunch.
Fix this ASAP.
