It is possible to copy files from official event mods and publish them through user mods in order to be able to keep on using them.

For example current main menu background can be found in “C:\Users\{username}\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\{userId}\mods\subscribed\3631_Age 1 DE Anniversary 2020 - Event UI content\resources\_common\wpfg\resources\mainmenu\mainmenu_bg.jpg”.

Hmm, actually the background seems to also be in “C:\Users\{username}\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\{userId}\mods\subscribed\3631_Age 1 DE Anniversary 2020 - Event UI content\widgetui\textures\backgrounds\mainmenu_bg.dds”.
Not sure, which background has effect in game. Has to be tested.
