They need back their +1 range in castle age on Mangonels. If not as team bonus, then as normal bonus.
May i ask which is the best
on the contrary, I think the buffed war wagon by decreasing their wood cost from 120 to 110 to now 92. It has become a very good unit again in semi-closed and closed maps.
Yeah that’s very true! I forgot the wood buff counted to them as well. Most of my (few) games as Korea are over before then so didn’t notice
I would just give them a full blacksmith
Or plate bard + bloodlines only minus -15hp wagons and parthian tactics (for their CA not wagons)
And since feudal towers are pretty weak now. I dont mind if the fortification speed returns but 5% feudal 10% castle 15% imperial. It’s still not really the best option in todays meta. The amount of times I pushed back a korean trush in 1v1s and TGs is insane. Tower rush is really easy to push back 90% of the time.
Yeah their units aren’t super strong anymore to justify lacking two blacksmith upgrades
Full blacksmith seems like a nice change, I agree. (or at least blast furnace)
Full blacksmith is not a bad idea. Either that or bloodlines could work. Something that make them have the chance to play something beside archer-halbs
Agree with bloodlines. I would like for them to use cav archers more frequently. Their wood discount could be very useful even with not FU CA.
I think making Shinkichon +2 Range again could be good, Tatars have both Timurid Siegecraft and Siege Engineers, even TS was buffed because +1 range was pretty underwhelming.
Extend the wood discount to all technologies and Siege Weapons also.
This sounds overpower.
I would like to do something to Koreans.
- Remove Hussar, getting Bloodline and Plate Barding Armor.
- War Wagon basic HP down from current 150>200 to 140>180.
- Turtle Ship basic speed +15%>+30%. (making original UT free)
- Change Castle age UT by “Hwarang”, swordmen-line attack +10 vs UU.
- Cancel the bonus that Tower get +1/+2 range in Castle/Imperial age, getting the bonus that Tower get +1/+2 attack in Castle/Imperial age.
Related changing: “Yeoman” give Briton Tower +2 range instead of current +2 attack.
Why nerf war wagons and Korean towers?
- Korean stable and navy units becomes more useful.
- Almost every players go Tower rushing then turning to war wagon. The meta is boring and needs something new.
And you can see the wagon and tower are not truly nerfed.
The wagon even can get extra 10 HP if there is Bloodline in the castle age.
The tower also get more attack.
Yeah nvm I didn’t see bloodlines. But Korean trush isn’t as strong anymore, the range is way more important than attack
In my opinion, attack is more important than range if the towers are used for the defense instead of attacking. I remember that Koreans was defined as a defense civ in AoC.
Also, the farther range tower might fit the Briton feature than Koreans in my opinion.
Pretty sure they were always defined as tower and naval civ and then redefined as defensive civ in DE. And range is still better to cover a larger area of your base regardless
In most case, the rival’s base instead of the player’s base. 11
If the tower is used in defense, the damage will do more better than range since the rival troops still have to come to invade and to get closer to your base.
In the other hand, if the tower is used in attack, the range is better since it makes sure that the rival units can suffer more fire before they flee out of the range.
I don’t like the tower rush becomes a regular strategy, so I prefer the former than the later.
Well, every one has its own view.
Even on defense, Range is always more important than Attack, since with extra Range you actually do get more Attacks on closing and retreating units.
because towers are not really a viable form of defense, a full castle does the job much better
I think that towers are used far more offensively than defensibly (altough it would be could otherwise, it has been proved a not so viable strategy). Anyway, I like the idea about giving them bloodlines.
This could be really worked on. Maybe less attack (something like +5) or maybe something even smaller, but for all units (+3 to archers, infantry for example) anyway, could be an interesting concept
