No. They rose up as different polities. Their culture remained after the Sassanid empire fell; and they even reverse spread it back into Arab areas.
Lots of parts of Persian culture spread across Asia during the Middle Ages.

Hopefully a new DLC is more well thought by the devs. RoR was a disaster.
I mean, if you donāt define going from āhaving one of the greatest empires in the worldā to āsurviving as a culture with no independant states for centuriesā as ādroping off a bitā, then I donāt see how the Armenians did.
What are you saying? Your wording is confusing.
Sorry, maybe itās clearer with quotation marks everywhere. What I meant is that it canāt really be denied that for most of the Middle Ages the Persians were in a far poorer state than they were under the Achaemenids and Ancient Era Sassanians, especially from an RTS point of view in which having a cultural reach means nothing if you donāt have an independant state with its own army. And any argument that would deny that should also apply to the Armenians, especially since having never reached the same power projection as Persia their fall from grace wasnāt as brutal.
I see. Well, in any case, the Armenians are actually relevant for longer in the AoE2 time period than the Persians are, since the Bagratid Dynasty lasted from the mid 800s to the mid 1000s, roughly corresponding to the late Feudal Age and early Castle Age. In my concept, their historical peak is represented by them being specifically an early game civilization with fewer options as the game advances.
Yes! New DLC is registered to steam db. This is obvious, the next expansion is in process. I would bet something related to Persians
Honestly, just have a DLC with a lot of campaigns and custom skins. That would be as good as any DLC with a new civ imo.
Architecture sets yes, campaigns no. Didnāt even bother to play the last ones. New civs are what sells a DLC for me.
I hadnāt thought about it. But now Iām really wishing for them to be renamed to Arabs⦠I highly doubt it tho
Split the dravidians.
Yes. There can be the Tamils and the Kannadas. However, I donāt think another India split is going to happen anytime soon.
It could be a slavs split too.Slavs renamed to Rus romanians and serbians added boyar becomes a knight replacement cossack becomes rus uu.Obviously reworking the dracula campaign.
Reading about people of Central Asia I think the White Huns are going to be a potential new central asian civilization because they had a a mjor impact in India and Persia for a certain time.
Really hope that the new DLC could be centered on East or SE Asia and featuring civs like the Jurchens, Khitans, Tanguts, Dians/Baipu, Chams, Mons, Siamese, etc.
If thatās not the case, then Iād also hope it to be a DLC about Africa or the Americas.
I donāt want to see more European civs, not because I think theyāre boring or unimportant, but because the game has already been saturated with European civs. The devs need to give some love to the other continents as well.
Yeah, at the moment I would be happy with everything but Europe or South Asia. I DO want more of both in the future, but not right now.
My personal wish would be Africa, but itās not the only continent that needs attention.
Australia. Lotta untapped Aboriginal civs
Whatever civs that will be added, I want more architecture set. A lot of works from graphic designers as there need to be destruction animation for a lot of buildings. But I think all the current set except Africa and CA are overloaded. Funnily, most people are speculating an Africa or Central Asia DLC. Maybe everyone realised devs wonāt add new architecture set.
I am currently working with AbeJin to make a Caucasus architecture set. Iām designing and directing the buildings, while he is creating the actual assets, destruction animation included. Heās nowhere close to finishing, but I am confident he will be able to do it on his own with my help. If one person can make an entire set with destruction animations, there is no reason that a whole team canāt do it.
You mean Hephthalites? Huns and White Huns will be so confusing.
