Dude, they’re messing around, nerfing irrelevant things in the Japanese, instead of weakening what really matters. When they mess with the samurai… it’ll be the final blow, combined with all these small nerfs, and the civilization will become bad. It’s like they’re making fun of us.
Skill issue? Samari are incredibly expensive and have a high pop. There are a lot of thing that can easily counter them. The only thing they need a nerf with is their speed as they’re rather fast for a unit thats designed to be a tank.
Which of the things that got nerf would you consider irrelevant?
Samurai spam is a lot worse than it was on release. From armor nerfs, eco nerfs on amaterasu, healing nerf. Archer pierce damage increase and many bushido changes. Massing up samurai takes quite some time. If you stand iddle and let it happen ofc its gonna come back at you.

if samurais get nerfed again i would like to see a buff to Fujin which has so much potential and the cooles heroic myth unit but lagging behind the other two.
Ma perché indebolire i samurai? È un unità elite giapponese, costa quanto due opliti, ci metti un sacco ad addestrarlo e non è difficile da gestire. I nerf fatti al giappone sono stati ottimi in quanto non hanno distrutto mezzo pantheon e hanno ridotto di molto i problemi che aveva come Luna Nuova , bushido troppo veloce o qualche unità sovradimensionata. Il samurai non mi sembra affatto troppo forte e numeri alla mano è corretto che abbia quella potenza per un unità da 4 popolazione. È un unità elite ci sta sia piu forte delle unità basiche.

Agreed, it feels people were looking at the first thing that showed up and not past it to see if it was something else. If japan didnt have samurai, but murmillo or hoplites they would have still be very good with the way bushido worked initially and the upgrades you could stack on them
I also think people are looking at a samurai as a japanese hoplite when its more close to the eggy elephant or tiger calv from china. Its a very expensive unit thats worth 4 pop. Its an elite unit as you mention and it has the wekanesses of one imo.

Ma appunto in ogni patch che abbiamo avuto cè sempre stato un nerf per rallentare il bushido. Dal momento dell’uscita a oggi è cambiato tantissimo .
Oh for sure, i think devs deciding to targeti that instead of just nerfing samurai or X other unit people whre having issues with was a better call. Now it seems more akin in tempo as what you get from other civs.
