they either fired the QA Lead or he left. but it seems they are hiring people to avoid such mess in the future.

Are you sure this job announcement is for AOE4 team?
Yes the job mentions RTS. this is the only RTS they have right now. The CoH3 they are working on is turn based
Company of heroes is not turn based its an RTS lol. The campaign map might be turn based but thats it.
What UI updates? Can’t even view the map after a match. That doesn’t work - takes me straight to the score, and I don’t click continue.
I’m an old fan of the COH series.
COH3 is RTS, not a turn-based game.
Personally I think good balance patches should come further down the line. I’ve seen many people, including popular streamers, upset that they didn’t do more balance changes, but several things make me feel differently.
First, this game just came out a little over a month ago. Playstyles are still developing, there’s a new OP unit, civ, or strat every couple weeks, and some civs still get relatively low playtime (like Delhi and Chinese). While I’m sure they have insane amounts of data to back up their changes (they stated that more hours were played in the first couple days than their balance team had played all year), I don’t think people have really figured out how to play everything to its potential yet, and so balancing seems premature.
Secondly, there are SO many bugs and things that need fixed. Most of the “balancing” that was done in this patch were just the devs fixing systems that weren’t working properly in the first place. They need to make sure landmarks, bonuses, techs, abilities, etc. are all working as intended before they start tweaking balance, because who knows how those bugs are changing the meta.
I agree, I think the pre-patch Delhi were kind of locked into the dark age Sacred play, and so were one dimensional, if still interesting to play/watch. I don’t really like the way they “fixed” this strategy, and like I said I think its early to be making these kinds of adjustments, but I do think that post-patch, they’re going to have a stronger early game, and so have more viable strategies. 15x may be too much, idk, but if the idea is to always be scaling up your mosques throughout the game, it should be much higher by late game. I also think that you shouldn’t be expecting low research times without a large investment, since you’re getting all these techs for free, thats the point of the scholar system. Not a Delhi player, so just my take. But Delhi are a perfect examples of FIX THE BUGS FIRST THEN BALANCE. They seem unplayable at the moment to me.
I think they’re taking the approach of buffing counters rather than nerfing strong units. Spearmen got a HUGE buff this patch, and may nullify French’s early knights, we’ll have to see. (But yet again, the Brace bug is going to make those buffs irrelevant to Spears v. Knights until its fixed…) Crossbowman also got buffed for likely the same reason. Purely conjecture here, but my guess on why they buffed Horseman ranged armor, but nerfed their HP, is that they wanted to make them a more specific counter to archers. It seems extreme to me, but I guess we’ll see how it plays out over the coming weeks.
