This video got me banned on the Age of Mythology Twitter

Edit 2: I just went to the Age of Mythology Twitter to see if there were any updates, and I was surprised to find that I was banned! They banned me because a few days ago I posted this video, which I’m sharing here, in a comment on the hotfix they made before the DLC. This is unfair and shows how much the developers and the AOM: Retold team care about the community’s opinion.

Certainly, I’m not the only one going through problems with this. Where’s the sense of proportion? How many gold mines are in the map compared to trees? Maybe a thousand trees for every 30 mines? It doesn’t matter, this madness needs to end soon.

Edit 1: I was talking to a friend who is a programmer, and he said: " If they can’t create a hierarchy, they could let the player select the first and second action of the NPC."

So please, devs, fix that. I know if you guys consult chat GPT it will teach you how do do that.

They are not too smart I guess…thats why I dont play this game anymore :expressionless:

You can shift click actions and it’ll queue up for the villagers. So you can have them build and then gather a specific resource or gather specific resources in an order of your choosing (mostly for hunting).

But this is palliatives, dont solve the cause of it.

This is not a bug, it’s an intended change.

  • Greek Villagers now prioritize wood and gold equally upon completing a drop site, rather than prioritizing gold over wood.

That doesn’t mean you have to like it of course.
Maybe make a title that actually says what the thread is about…

But why they did it this way?

I’ve noticed a pattern with game companies just banning anyone critical of them on socials… It’s getting to be a pattern across a lot of companies and it’s really pathetic if that’s what’s actually going on.

I find this changelog VERY strange.

Because since release the Greek Villagers did NOT priotizes gold, they always splited and got to wood and I hated it.

And then this patch pretended they changed to work like this NOW, which was not the case. I dont understand in what world it would not be better for the Villagers to not prioritize the closest resource becasue you always want the gold if you build next to gold.

If I remember correctly they did prioritise Gold in the past.
Ox Carts clearly used to prioritised food over wood too (something that they also changed in the patch).
Now it sometimes feels like they are prioritising wood over gold. Same goes for the Chinese of course.

Unfortunately not surprising. The World’s Edge marketing team has been aggressively banning anyone publicly criticizing the studio or some part of their games. I got banned on the AOE Instagram for being critical of their decision to abandon AOE3.

Yes! That’s what I mean, they always used to split. I think the devs don’t know how to make them work properly to prioritize the gold, maybe 3:1 or 2:1 (I’m referring to the distance). It really doesn’t make sense to make both equally ‘appealing’ to the villagers.

If this happened in a game where the community is more united, it would generate a lot of negative backlash. I remember a few years ago when the War Thunder community stopped playing the game in a sort of ‘strike,’ which made Gaijin revert the changes to how the game’s currency worked.

This is an insane way of dealing with the community who spend time participating in the forums with the sole goal of seeing the game in a better form.

Thats what I am perceiving too.

Since the “Tragedy of Age of Noob” episode it’s been downhill about criticizing World’s Edge (very) bad decisions.

I play this since the early access and guarantee you that I was frusted day 1 that my greek villagers did not 100% prioritizes gold. It started my habit of building the storehouse and shift clicking on gold.

Maybe the change is that its even worse now (they split 50/50 even if the wood is far away)

Oh yeah, this one indeed.

But I dont understand why they should not simple prioritize the closest resource of the thing they build…?

Social medias being dumb and selfish :joy:

Ah, getting banned from their X. That is a big deal indeed.

Tbf, you were kinda making fun of the game. Also asking professionals to “consult chatGPT” should get you banned. Is that what you typed in your comment on their X? That their devs are bad and should use ChatGPT?

Let me be honest, you probably made 10 comments about them needing to fix this and that’s why you got banned.

I would like the actually talk about the problem and not talk about moderation on a different platform.

If he got banned from Twitter then because he broke the Twitter rules (which requires you to write really awful stuff) and has nothing to do with the developers of Age of Mythology or Microsoft.
Unless he means being blocked by the official Age of Mythology Twitter account which is a totally different thing.

But look at this thread. It’s still here on their forums where they can directly ban anyone they want to any time. It’s been up for 5 days already.

Played the chinese campaugn.
Sent two Kuafus to build a dropsite next to some gold. Put it right next to the gold. The wood was about three times as far away as the gold, on the other side of a small hill.
Both Kuafus went for the wood regardless.

That’s why I started to shift click on every specific resource after I gave them the command to build dropsite.

Sometimes my workers don’t finish walls need to find a fix for that maybe it pressed shift command too much.

“probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably” “probably”

I am not “kinda” making fun of the game, I am literally making fun of the game. But I really would like to know why exactly should I be banned because of that?

He got blocked from the age of mythology X profile.

I want a good argument why someone dont want the villagers to not ALWAYS go to gold in situations like this…? Who wants the villagers to split?
