[Thought] Upgrading UU in building other than castle + Iron pagoda availlaible in stabble?

Huskarl and Tarkan upgraded at the barrack and the stable ?

Sicilian sergeant can now be upgraded both in the castle in the Sicilian dungeon. Also spear line can now be trained and upgraded at the barracks and at the Sicilian dungeon.

Bulgarian Konnik can now be upgraded both in the castle in the Bulgarian krepost. Also Petard can now be trained at the krepost.

But their is two another UU who be trained outside the castle after researching one UT : Tarkans and Husrkarl.

Do you think that the elite upgrade can be researched either in castle and in barrack (huskarl) and in stabble (tarkan) after those are unlocked by their respective UT (Anarchy and maraudeur).

Iron pagoda in stable**

Also the jurchen have the problem that they lack the knight line and their only heavy cavalry (Iron pagoda) is available at the castle who mean this is difficult to mass them.

Do you think that the Bastion UT can unlock Iron pagoda in stable (with a longer training time to compensate like the tarkan one) and that the elite upgrade can be researched in both castle and stable ?

Bengalis also have this issue as ratha is the knight/ca.

Having free slots for this could be an issue both buildings are pretty full.

From the perspective of historical accuracy, the Jurchens’ conquests relied on their easily massed heavy cavalry. Therefore, it makes more sense for the Iron Pagoda, as such a typical heavy cavalry, to be accessable at Stables by default rather than at Castles.

By contrast, the Grenadier, such a special and non-typical unit, make more sense to be accessable at Castles by default rather than at ordinary Archery Ranges. Training Grenadiers in Castles also better reflects the historical development of the Jurchens: only after they had completed their conquests, learned about gunpowder, and acquired cities that needed to be defended did they begin to use gunpowder for defensive purposes.

The situation of the Bengalis is somewhat different.
Historically, they did not make extensive use of horse units due to their environment. They massively employed elephants as mounts for cavalry instead.

From a gameplay perspective, Ratha is a ranged unit, so having it at Castle is sufficient. For example, the civ can perform a Fast Castle Rush like the Spanish and the Mongols. Later on, players should try to transition to elephants rather than rely endlessly on Ratha massed from Castles.

Huskarls getting upgraded at Barracks could help Goths and they need help these days. I think upgrading Tarkans will not be used much, but I don’t see any problem with allowing the upgrade at stables.
