They seem quite strong. The pros seem to be favoring them in the tournament. Not enough data yet for winrates, but they at least think they are good.

It’s early to make a conclusion, I think meta for new patch isn’t set yet, pro players are still try to figure out the best. I was fair impressed by demuslim Otto that beated in late game English by Marinelord. So there is a big potential there, just let them try

First off many civs do NOT start with 100 additional resources.

Delhi starts with 50w etc likewise English and rus? French gets discounts on gathering locations so effectively it’s as they start off with 100 resources more (if they made 4 facilities). Lastly HRE starts with 100 less resources cache but a prelate already fielded which translate into waaaaay more than 100 additional resources in short time.

delhi starts with 50w but they have free techs,french gets discount to gathering buildings and techs,hre starts 100g less but their prelets keep buffing them entire game.So maybe they should remove 50w or 50s from the ottoman start but that could also bring them so much down.

Secondly consider the effects cost of the first school 100 wood and 50 stone and the 15s walk time (round trip) with 5 villagers and 30s build time. Assuming a value of 0.66 res/s gather rate; the real effective cost of the FIRST school is (105s vil-sec + 150 resources = 219.3 effective resources). So for an effective 220 resources you get something that generates military units at a base rate of 80 res-valued-units per 67.5 sec (worth 1.79 villagers gathering).

yes thats true but if your enemy builds a military building he will create 4 times faster than you if you remember when the ottomans first came out nobody is wining with them they nearly lost all of the matches until this cheaper military building buff.

But your MS school is both your passive generation And your production. That step saved is huge!! And woefully underestimated.

Then!!! You add the fact that your cheap blacksmith (a building everyone that has feudal aggression intent will need eventually) speeds up your production by 25%, 33%, 40% (60%)

now thats where their strength come from cheaper blacksmith and other military buildings if they cost 150 wood like before they will probably start losing every game again

iam magic played really good there he did that tactic again but he got unlucky and get the spearman killed by tc and ottomans are now look like a A or S tier civ they are really good but i still find castle age janissay underperforming and best part of the ottomans is all their landmarks is good you can chose between them to your hearts desire

Devs make Ottomans as gunpowder,siege civ but we see youtube pro videos that pros dont choose jans and gb like ottomans arent gunpowder, siege civ. Jans and gb need rework surely.
