Time to Buff Italy

Economy would once again, as allready pointed out, require Lombards to actually fill in the second factory, infact arguably due to the poor performance of italian infantry even out produce a factory.

Hence why suggestions of investment cards functioning like jesuit influence would probably be not adequate enough considering the EP mali Italy has.

Yeah something not remotly in the same ballpark as a second normal factory or the “sicilian depots” of the maltese…

30 games almost straight Italy and Ill be honest. I think they NEED the second factory. Their army is subpar already and they really do not have anything to show for it. Pavs are okay but you invest so much into them card wise that its just terrible. Pav upgrades need to benefit their age 4 counterparts.

You cannot really FI anymore cause you loose steam and die to any aggression. If you stay in lower ages your units do not scale into the lategame and you blow your shipments on card that will become irrelevant.

Hopefully devs listen and actually help the civ.

I don’t think the units are bad, its more that they’re just bland average euro units but also fell into the design trap of the asian civs - super specific cards for everything. So while civs like japan and india rely on a bunch of upgrade cards for the lategame, they have at least a solid roster of units that hold their own and usually are quite strong by default. Italy has no such benefits and its roster is really lacking while at the same time having almost too many options. Add in that they don’t have an infantry or cavalry royal guard unit, the awkward cost and limitations on papal units… I’m not sure what the proper solution is. Certainly reducing hyper-specific cards would go a long way at least.

I found something interesting, apparently Italy had cuirassiers just like France, I suppose this is the reason why the mercenary contractor gives us access to his mercenary version, but it wouldn’t hurt to have his original Italian version, the Reggimento corazzieri.

Alternatively, the developers could change the mercenary contractor to reduce the population of the Royal Horseman and the Mounted Rifleman to 3. (this with the advanced politicians card activated)

Well, that’s clearly not confusing at all and makes it clear what these units are. (Sarcasm)

I suppose that the historical unit of the cuirassier had a much more extensive armament and that is why this unit was also a carabinieri. Since this is a video game I think we can agree that this could perfectly justify adding both the Carabinieri and the Corazzieri to the arsenal of Italian units.
