To the game devs, as a new player to AOE 3, (yes I know shock), with my only previous game being back on the ps2 
, I was of course disappointed after purchasing the game to see that all support seems to of stopped.
I was having a read of the discord last night and specifically at what Ashley from WE was saying over the course of last year.
It was suggested that if the community pull together and kept the game alive there may be some hope for new content AS “they would keep fighting for us” The words also used were never say never and let’s face it AOE didn’t have support for a long time until HD edition and the DE games came out.
There has been a lot of chat on discord and on this forum regarding the activity of steamdb and some players claim to of seen dev members playing the game to test it.
With the 1 year anniversary of the games DLC being cancelled coming up, I think that would be a great time as any to announce what is going to happen for definite or at least give us a straight answer and say the development is over and nothing more will happen ever.
Steamdb has the new unknown app that appeared on 5th/6th January 2026 which then created 3 new packages and requires a token. This is the same pattern that aoe and aom games tend to follow when in active development so the talk is very mich based on previous knowledge.
The petition has 5,882 at the time of writing so far and keeps going up, I’d imagine if there was more communication or a patch then this number would go up significantly.
We aren’t even asking for a full dlc necessarily although it would be great, but even a new patch with bug fixes, maybe new cards and cosmetics would just help keep the game fresh.
Why not bring back all the stuff I’ve (or new players) have missed out on from previous events as from what i gather as I’m late to the party playing this game I can’t get the items others have which surely isn’t right? Just this small thing would earn goodwill of the community.
If no development is coming or ongoing why not release the game code so modders can continue your good work so we can all keep enjoying and playing the game we all love with new updates from our very skilled modders.
I play every game in the series but 3 is different in many ways but for good but to have zero communication this past year hasn’t helped with the way some members of the community feel.
Why not reopen communication with us either on here or discord? I know some people got banned and were upset but that was purely down to the disappointment and anger of not getting what was announced.
I think personally that it wasn’t our fault you announced content that wasn’t built yet, but if something was built at all then as a gesture of good will I hope you read this and at least give us what was announced, we would love continued support but giving us what was promised would make the entire aoe 3 happy.
The game has generally more active steam player than AOM:Retold, yes we don’t have Microsoft account numbers via Xbox and that game has the advantage as it’s on more platforms like console but this numbers we do have should count for something.
Aoe 3 could and would be great on console, I don’t see the card system as a drawback to any console release, the company have done a great job on the other games on console so this I feel should be the next logical step to boost sales.
Finally thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope this gets escalated to the higher end of Microsoft and Worlds Edge.
To all fellow AOE 3 members rather than some being negative, let’s try and be positive and show our support to the devs and hope they listen to our continued feedback for more content.
