For those who don’t know, the ranged attack of Delhi tower elephant currently doesn’t benefit from any blacksmith upgrades and incendiary arrow (I suspect it’s caused by the game considering the tusk attack of the tower elephant as its primary attack). After some calculation, I’ve found that the DPS of tower elephant is seriously crippled by this bug in late imperial and I consider this a significant factor in Delhi’s weakness in lategame.
Comparison of fully upgraded tower elephant’s DPS against light and heavy units with and without the bug:
With the bug:
Damage per shot against light units: 15 - 3 = 12
DPS against light units: 12 * 2 / 1.25 = 19.2
Damage against heavy units: 15 + 11 - 8 = 18
DPS against heavy units: 18 * 2 / 1.25 = 28.8
Without the bug:
Damage per shot against light units: 22 - 3 = 19
DPS against light units: 19 * 2 / 1.25 = 30.4
Damage against heavy units: 22 + 11 - 8 = 25
DPS against heavy units: 25 * 2 / 1.25 = 40
Tower elephants are losing roughly 37% DPS against light units and 24% DPS against heavy units to the bug in late imperial against fully upgraded units. If it’s gonna take some time to fix this bug, I think the devs should make the siege elephant upgrade give tower elephant extra base ranged attack as a temporary fix.
