Currently towers and TC are inefficient and troll players are taking advantage of this and are only playing team rush (3 vs 1 rush).
It doesn’t matter if you have a high elo level. If you play against a team of trolls that decide to rush you 3 vs 1 they will win since towers are inefficient for defense and most maps are large making it difficult for allied support.
My request is to make towers efficient against team rush until players can make improvements to the Armory and barracks. and Shield upgrades should cost more resources.
According to your description, the error seems to be in your teammates who do not help you defend, that’s all.
If you are able to defend yourself alone against 3 opposing players using a tower strategy this would be broken.
It is currently practically impossible to defend against a rush against 3 opposing players or 3 vs 1 rush since the map is big and it takes time for allies to arrive to defend. The towers that are supposed to defend against a rush are ineffective.
If the map is big, It is also big for your enemies which means it also takes alot of time for them to rally their units from their base to your base.
I’m not saying that 3v1 in team games is not a problem. I’m saying that buffing towers wouldn’t help. If towers are weak, They are weak for every one including your enemies.
This 3vs1 rush strategy in Age of Empires 3, Age of Empires 4 and here on retold is the best strategy to win team games.
In my opinion, the only thing that can save you from this strategy in medium or low ELO is for your team to do the same thing.
In higher ELO games, professional players try to reduce losses while being attacked 3vs1, while their friends make an economic boom or attack their enemies’ economy.
The towers should not be able to hold 3 players attacking you and you defending yourself alone, if this happens it would mean that the towers are too strong.
Edit: I’m not saying that towers are strong or weak, just that they shouldn’t be the solution for 3vs1 defense.
3vs 1 rush can’t be taken as a strategy since There is nothing more cowardly and shameful than a 3 vs 1 rush. It is regrettable and can even be taken as an insult to the opposing player. In all the Ages that exist, towers are effective against a rush, except for Age of Mythology Retold. There is even a pro player named Iammagic who mentions in a YouTube video the inefficiency of towers.
lol, You call 3v1 an insult, rush is a strategy like any other, if you don’t like certain strategies you should consider playing against AIs only because it’s not up to you to dictate what others should or shouldn’t do
Brother, Towers need a buff thats something i aggree on, and some pros too. BUT its not the answer to your problem. What you need is to play with people you can talk to. If its a 3v1 and you know enemies can gang up on you ( its a basic effective strategy since aoe2 ), then prepare for it and ask your allies for early protection. They are more close to you that your enemies, so this will counter the early rush and leave them at disadvantage since they spent more ressources that you.
Another trick is to ask your allies to rush one of the enemy players and that way even if they beat you, your allies beat one of them and it will stay 2v2.
Again, its a team-Skill and communication issue rather tham a game design problem.
