A culv shot kills multiple mortors , 2-3 every shot , I can’t micro each motorr sepratly , u have to keep them closer.

As a player who has used China, USA, and Ethiopia in games of the highest level, I want to make sure that any game developers reading this get the right idea.

No matter what any player says, please do not believe that USA is comparable to China. China is a very powerful civ, and probably could use some small nerfs, but USA is absolutely unplayable. I can’t remember the last time I played against a USA player and their score didn’t touch 3k, and this was in top-level games, versus people like Floko, Zivearia, Hazzarov, et cetera. Hand mortars trade poorly versus culverins always, unless the player using the culverins is poor at micro/blunders constantly.

I recognize the steps developers have taken to balance the Ethiopian Sebastopol mortar, but it is not enough. I think forcing them to train on single batches like the Hausa Heavy Cannon would be a good step as well. I would also consider making their permanent speed exactly the same as a European culverin in bombard mode.

As for the one-pop javelin riders, I agree with the sentiment that they are too powerful for a typical 1-pop unit, and recommend they be given stats comparable to a dutch ryuter.

The mortar has already been nerfed into the ground, already takes less culv shots to kill than equivalent res of falconets.
Most of the complaints I see about the mortar seem to be with abuns healing it too fast, the mortar itself doesn’t need any more nerfs or it’ll be ruined in supremacy it’s already pretty bad now.

The issues here:

  • You have to be able to shoot the mortar, its movespeed and range is way too high for this. I assume this problem to be the same in supremacy.
  • If you manage to shoot them with less than 3 culvs, you indeed have the abun problem where they heal them up completely.

Remark: nerfed to the ground? The only change to the Sebastopol mortar is movespeed reduced from 2.5 to 2.25, plus they got the Li’l bombard card to supposedly improve their damage, however it seems like that part is not working.

I was super surprised they werent nerfed in the last patch. They have been overtuned so much they are not just considered strong, but broken for treaty.

God my eyes bleed reading this thread. China stronger than USA, ethiopia not broken.

Nerf Javelins, into the ground, a unit shouldnt be able to be spammed into its counter (skirm) and you still come out ahead res wise. make the mortar range lower or the speed slower. there is literally no counterplay if microed correctly since you cant even cav flank it with 50 javelin riders out.

state militia needs a nerf, OR a cost increase. you can literally spamm mindlessly standing under towers and ignoring what your opponent sends, even with 0 art micro you can get decent trades, just send minutemen and kill his artillery while youre tower, state militia and cree roflstomp the rest.

nerf the USA eco by atleast 10% so there might be a chance to kill usa’s eco before infinite shipments arrive to make usa undrainable.

not spoken about this much, but why the ā– ā– ā– ā–  does hausas musk get a multiplier vs mercs? try playing sweden and relying on jaegers since you have no skirms, hardcountered :wink:

Previous patch to this nerfed the mortar a ton in practically every way, a few nerfs were needed but not so much. Move speed nerf was the final nail in the coffin.

Both griot and abuns are weak in treaty , 10 hp/sec can’t compensate for the point that u lacking one pop , 10 of them will heal a SINGLE unit for 100hp/sec , that’s a one skirmishers shot to a heavy infantry , so it might negate 3 skirmishers worth demage to a heavy unit . Costing 10 pop ??? .
Every single unit deal more than 10 demage , except Chinese mortor , so one abun or griot can’t even negate , demage of a single units , while costing one pop themselves .

Healers are very weak , and not advisable to use in mass, only use of abuns is to heal mortor and build monestry during fight , they are not good else .

Griot , well u don’t need them in fight , with 18 range they will come in front of ur other units and will be targeted by enemy units , enemy don’t even need to micro his units , and they cost a. Lot of gold .

They look good on paper , but using them in real fight is not practical . Their best use is to put them on ur forward palace , native embassy , barracks , and spam u it’s faster , that’s the best use of them .

Neftenya skirms are ridiculous. 330 hp, ranged and siege resist, 1 pop.

Compare that to fully carded French skrims which are propably the best Europe skrim. They don’t even reach 300 hp, no siege resist, less dmasge.

Insane pop efficient units like these are what ruin treaty.
