Hi everyone, it’s an honor to meet this wonderful community ![]()
.
As a fan of mythology since I was a kid, I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for a while, and I’d love to share it with you, and who knows, maybe the developers will read it.
- Warrior dwarves as a replacement for the traditional berserker transformation, based on the miner dwarf.
- A new heroic unit for the Egyptians: The Medjay.
With the implementation of the latest Blood and Bones update (thank you so much for your incredible work), the appearance of the Amazonian archers has given me hope that new units might be added to the game. I know how far-fetched my ideas might be and that they would likely affect the game’s meta in some way, but I’ll elaborate on my idea below.
- Warrior Dwarves
I’ve always found the Nordic mechanic of transforming villagers into berserkers to be very useful; however, I find it a bit odd that the same applies to worker dwarves. I hope someone else shares this opinion.
Finding a model for creating a dwarf warrior isn’t that frustrating when we know that a divine power called Ragnarok already performs this transformation, and does it very well.
Creating and recoloring one wouldn’t be impossible, since something similar was already done with the Amazon warriors, using Hippolyta as the base design.
* Hippolyta as the Amazon archer based model
The dwarf warrior would be a non-heroic unit, perhaps with stats similar to those of the berserker, and it might be possible to create it in a similar structure. Not only that but the possibility of creating a campaign using only dwarves in the editor would be wonderful
.
- The Medjay Warrior
The Egyptian civilization has been one of my favorites throughout my years playing the game. With the addition of the Chinese, Japanese, and now Aztec (and hopefully Mayan) pantheons, it’s no secret that every civilization except the Egyptians has a significant variety of heroes. Just look at the Chinese, who have heroic units everywhere.
Beyond the meta and how to play them, relying solely on priests to counter mythical units feels a bit limited (and the pharaoh, even though we know that its value lies more in productivity) I feel like there’s a gap to fill.
That’s why those bad guys popped into my head:
Medjay warrior - For honor hero model
According to historical accounts, the Medjay were nomadic warriors who, at one point, served as elite fighters defending the all-powerful pharaohs from all manner of dangers, including guarding their tombs after their deaths.
I imagine them to be somewhat similar to the Onna-Musha, heroic court soldiers leading the charge against mythical units, wielding imposing double-edged palm-shaped axes (much like in the game For Honor)
.
Posting this fills me with encouragement and hope that I might see it in game someday, and I hope you’ll share some of this love to help make this wonderful game even better. Best wishes and a big hug.
Note: I wanted to fill the post with images related to what I’ve discussed, but due to platform guidelines, I had to keep it mostly text-based.
