No games appear in the MP lobby browser. Unable to join friends games through invite. If I create a lobby and invite, my friend cannot join, and gets message popup “Host Rejected”

  • 100% of the time / matches I play (ALWAYS)

Unsure what caused the issue, we have attempted to uninstall/reinstall, verify game files, did not work.

I should be able to see games in the MP lobby browser, and join on friends when invited.

Im making this post on behalf of my friend, my game works just fine, windows 11, steam, 100.15.59076.0 P1. We have played together many times in the past in a password protected MP lobby. One day a month or so ago we tried again and this issue started. notably his game version does not have the P1 at the end but i am not sure why. If you need me to get him to make a post just let me know i can get him to make an account.

Please make sure your windows time is synchronized with the MS servers.
If it sais yes, just disable and enable it once, even the slightest second offset will make the game refuse to download datapatches.

Confirm that Windows Time is Set to the Appropriate Region & Time Zone
In some instances, if your Windows Time is not accurately set to your current region and time zone, the game may have trouble communicating with the server for updates.

  • Type “region settings” into the Windows Search Bar and click Enter
  • Check that the region listed under the country & region dropdown is accurate
  • Click Date & Time from the left-side navigation menu
  • Check that your time zone is correctly listed from the dropdown menu
  • Under Synchronize your Clock click Sync Now
  • Restart your machine
  • Launch the game

Alright i passed it along, he will give it a try when he can.

Alright he just tried it, it did not fix the lobby server list sometimes a game pops up from asia in his list, but not the 15-20 games that i see in mine. In fact he said his clock has always been set ~10 minutes fast even when we started playing over a year ago, and it was not an issue. Surprisingly, he was able to join me through a steam invite even though he could not see my lobby in the server list.

Thats odd.
Can you check with him, if he has the following folder?

C:\Users\Username\Games\Age of Empires 3 DE\UserID\DataPatch\28.0

If he doesnt have that, you can send him the folder.

If he does have that folder, Tell him to start the game / steam as administrator

Bonsoir, je ne sais pas si c’est lié mais à un moment donné j’avais un ami qui arrivait pas à me rejoindre dans ma partie multiplayers, après quelques recherches nous avions découvert qu’il avait en fait pas les mêmes mods que moi et ça été réglé par le dl et la mise en place des mêmes mods entre lui et moi, si ce n’est pas ça j’espère que vous arriviez à régler votre soucis :wink:

was this resolved? because my version is same as yours but my friend has version 100.15.59076.0 P28.0.1
