I propose an unique aztec building : The Chinampa who replace the fish trap.
Chinampas were field build on the Texcoco lake by the aztecs. This building can be a good eye candy for the Montezuma campaign.
Maybe not as large as this illustration, I think a 1x1 building can be a good addition. Maybe a 2x2 building at most.
Chinampa
Aztec unique building in replacement of the fish trap.
This building start with less food than a fish trap (715 food) but gain from the mill technology Horse Collar (+75 food) Heavy Plow (+125 food) Crop Rotation (+175 food) (total +550 food)
He start at 450 food in dark age to finish at 1000 food in imperial age. For a better wood to food ratio.
The gathering rate is the same than the fish trap. In comparison from the gathering of a villager on a farm this is similar (0.32 for a villager on a farm, 0.35 for a fishing ship on fishing trap)
Wood to food ratio
Farm Fish trap Chinampa
Dark age 2.92 7.15 4.5
Feudal age 4.17 7.15 5.25
Castle age 6.25 7.15 6.5
Imperial age 9.17 7.15 10
Cost : 100 wood
Build time : 25 s
Size : 1x1 or 2x2 tiles
HP : 200
Melee armor : 0
Pierce armor : 0
Armor classes : Building (+10), Standard building
Line of sight : 1
Special : Impassable building. Unlike the fish trap the chinampa block the movement of the units.
Can be stolen by enemy fishing ship.
Like the farm don’t benefit from technology who improve building.
I’m aware than adding an impassable constructing building on water can allow an aztec player to wall the water like building house on land but unlike an house an enemy player can steal the chinampa with a fishing boat.
