Unplayable with Overpowered Scorpions

The Game is unplayable as the scorpions are way to overpowered.
Usaly play ranked. But not paying more until it fixed.
Destroy the fun of the game.
Nothing takes them. Dont understand how they where thinking when they made them so strong.
Hitting on moving target was just stupid move.

I heard that Furjaras spearmen-line are the best units against mass scorpions, just saying

Can’t you just use your own scorpions then?

If it’s so overpowered, you can easily prove your theory by picking a civ with good Scorpions every game. If what you claim is true, you will jump up in ELO rating by +200 within a month or so.

tbh the new scorpions play especially against ca is decent
But it’s far from OP. I guess overall we still see way more investment into mangonels or rams.

I like that we see more Scorpions these days than we used to.

Is the OP situation you say when you face mass scorpion in late game? Mass ballistics scorpions may kill even onager or bbc. You may need more counter units or kill the opponent early. (But it may be because of mass, not ballistics)

In castle age, ballistics scorpions are not OP I think. It is only that you need some micro to dodge scorpion attacks. I doubt adding ballistics made scorpions in castle age legit. Ballictics need university so it is researched later. I think scorpions are legit from the beginning (better for ballistics) and many players noticed normal scorpion’s goodness.

Try rams. Especially ones garrisoned with spears. They can splash kill scorps like crazy.

I forgot them!

Again, can’t you just, just mass scorpions yourself?

Idk how Flipp_Flopp1 thinks. However, I don’t wanna see that every games are only scorpions. Fortunately, I’ve not seen it.

To be fair. If a counter to a unit is “use it yourself” it’s overpowered.

Sup my dudes.

I only play the single player and I want an opinion on mangonels and onagers. They are pretty much useless and damage my own army. How do you use them properly? For offense or defence? They are pretty expensive to use. Maybe just hide them behind walls and set them to stand ground mode?

You micro them with aimed shots (attack ground button). They are amazing to destroy your opponent’s armies, or at least heavily damage them, if used properly

I think major rebalance across civs are needed. Khmer is unplayable now.

@Darkillermon Sounds tricky to do, even if I played with keyboard and mouse I think I’d never learn it. Too old lol. Why put expensive units in danger anyway? I’ll keep my catapults behind walls unless I know I have the advantage over the enemy.

You can go just halbs+onagers, unless the AI has BBC, than you might need light cavalry also to snipe than, or monks to convert. Use box formation or order yours halbs the to Guard your onagers, so they wont go further ahead and are less likely to get shot
