ISSUE EXPERIENCED

Custom / Unranked lobbies crash when pressing “Start Game” then we get an error on the menu screen saying “The lobby encountered an unexpected error and has been closed”.

Players are being kicked out of the lobby for no reason and receive the exact same screen or it just says host kicked them even though the host didn’t kick anyone.
This has been happening for months now and wastes a lot of time for players.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
Occurs in roughly 50% of our hosted lobbies games (FREQUENTLY). This has been happening for 5-6 months now.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:
Host an EASTUS custom game (unranked) lobby.
Wait until 8 players join.
Players will then get kicked randomly by the lobby itself.
Receive a screen error and everyone gets kicked.
Often happens when host uses 2-3 monitors or is tabbed out while waiting. Also happens when other players wait for over 15-20 mins.
Restarting the game / Steam fixes the issues but it occurs again after a few games

Update as of June 7th 2024:
Issue still occurs. Lobby won’t start and drops every other game while starting. Players are also complaining that the lobby is kicking them by itself.
I found out that it often happens when the host uses 2-3 monitors or is tabbed out while waiting. Also happens more frequently when other players wait for over at least 15-20 mins.
I found out that restarting the game / Steam fixes the issue temporary but it occurs again after a few games.

yea this issue has been going on since very early this year, so around at least 4-5 months now and not fixed yet

Update as of June 17th 2024:
The issue still occurs. Lobby won’t start and crashes every other game while trying to start the game. Players are also complaining that the lobby is kicking them by itself.
Many players from different communities waste hours of their free time just to host lobbies that end up crashing. This is causing unnecessary anger in the custom game lobbies! When will the devs finally patch this issue? It has been over 7 months and there has been no progress with regard to the issue.

I took a look of the original thread I posted when reported this issue, that was in sept 2023 so about 9 months and counting now

Update as of August 3, 2024:
Less than 2 months later, and still no updates or acknowledgement from the devs. I see that multiple users also submitted the problem to this forum, thanks guys! I doubt the devs are even reading these though.
This week together with groups from our community games we wasted hours of our life trying to start a custom unranked lobby just to see it crash 4 times in a row when pressing launch. This even happened to TheViper during his attempts to start a game.
It has been over 8 months and there has been no progress with regard to the issue. More and more players are moving to play other games due to this problem and their limited gaming time.

almost a year now and this issue isn’t fixed. feels like torture sometimes just to get a game going

interesting, but i use to play games that nobody ever spectates and still we get this bug very often
Update - Nov 22, 2024:
8 out of 10 lobbies crashed at start in one evening. 3 different hosts from different regions. Became so much worse after the Greece DLC.
Are the devs even reading these forums? It has been over a year, zero support or awareness
This bug still occurs.
Confirmed to happen if a player either joins a lobby then leaves, or is kicked from a lobby.
Please fix.
